I'd take a point anytime, but I'll be lying if I don't hope for a win tonite.

Why is that not a deserving red card? Its for unsporting behavior. Of course they both deserve the card. We all know its unlike bakary to behave like that, but every player should know what is coming their way with that kind of confrontation. I believe zabaleta was merely doing his defensive work preventing sagna from getting the ball. Provocation is just another tactical plan to goad the opponent in getting sent off. If bakary hadn't reacted that way, man city might get a yellow card instead and arsenal would have gotten a freekick. Alas, it didn't happen that way did it? Instead, the game was delayed, our tempo was distrupted, our defence thinned and our best RB is suspended for 3 games. Bowyer must be laughing his ass off right now.
Added on January 6, 2011, 8:08 am QUOTE(kimhoong @ Jan 6 2011, 05:55 AM) I do not blame Man City for being ulta-defensive. It's up to them to play their strategy. Man City is mimicking our Harimau Muda vs Vietnam strategy, which seems to garner attention by big clubs these days.I am rather disappointed that we couldn't penetrate through their defence. I am not finger-pointing any individual players but if route A is not working, why keep trying? As I said before, entertaining match but no goal Machini may get what he wants but is 1 point really what Man City needs? As for the first half, we can all agree that it was such an entertaining watch. Kudos to the team for putting torrential attack in front of the city's goal. I wouldn't say we failed to penetrate, on the contrary we manage to pass through their defence like butter! Its just so happen that Joe Hart was on fire tonight. I'd say he just mark himself as top 5 world class goalkeeper for the future. And that bro kimhoong, is why we don't have plan B against them. I don't blame Arsene for putting in Arshavin and Bendtner late in the game. Obviously, he is trying to add a different dimension to the play. It may be DIFFERENT, but its NOT BETTER. You could even see theo's dissatisfaction coming off the field. I would have probably instead opt for Rosicky replacing Theo and have chamakh replacing Persie, but that's just me. its a mixed reaction for walcott's confession. Regardless of what people may say, he's made his peace with himself, thus can concentrate to improve himself in the future.

QUOTE(jonrwg @ Jan 10 2011, 06:06 AM) Would love to see that. Even with 4-4-3 formation, man utd can only score 1 goal. Honestly, man utd quite impotent this season, but their defence is still strong though. Hope this will be a revival for Liverpool. The league need the original 4 to get the game interesting again. QUOTE(little_mozart @ Jan 10 2011, 09:17 AM) For me that is diefinitely diving for berba case...but its legal and warranted penalty when berba go down. u see the Agger hands touching berbas' back? Honestly, I think Berba's dive is a bit similar to Theo's. As in when there is contact, a manager would always tell its player to go down. Its up for the referee to make the call. Unfortunately, the ref decide to give it to Man Utd.kinda similar torres penalty in CL against us couple seasons ago. i don't quite remember. toure hand touched torres' back. correct me if im wrong |

QUOTE(rosicky_return @ Jan 10 2011, 10:53 AM) Sorry, I didn't have the privilege of reading his book. In addition to my point, a player would always decide whether to take the risk of going down on a soft tackle or get back up again for a chance to score. I see walcott always prefer the latter because he is an opportunist, a believer that he can make the shot if given a chance. Chamakh on the other hand falls down more often after a contact. That's why Arsenal earn a lot of set pieces and free kicks through him. Its all part and parcel of the game. You see very few in some team, and you see a lot in some team, especially a particular spanish team. |

Though I respect Sol, I think reinstating him back into the team is like taking a step back from last season. He is already wayy past his best, and at the moment I don't think he is match-fit for any games. Looking back at his honeymoon pictures would make any 3rd division manager thinking twice about putting him on the pitch.
I loovve Gary Cahill! I don't often see him play, but I did watch an interview on him and noticed him when Arsenal played Bolton. He is a good player and can really slug it out in a game. Only weakness is that his positioning are often exposed by opponents several times. But for a young age of 25, he's still got a lot of future ahead of him. Too bad he's English though.....his price will be off the roof! |
