hi pros, i would like to ask: what i need to do if my rabbit got hurt near his noes and mouth? it was due to a fight between rabbits... it is a deep bruise some more...
*
It is just external injury. I think not very serious. just make sure that the wound is dry and free from flies. If there is no sign of serious inflamation, I think he will be ok very soon. just wash with antiseptic and monitor the condition. If it got worst, then I would advice you to pay a visit to the vet.

Hi there, I do not recommend giving alfalfa to rabbits. I only give Timothy hay to my rabbits. If you are trying to look for Timothy hay and Cuni nature, you can also get this at http://tinycritterz.com/

Hey guys.... i was wondering... is the pallet food i bought from the pet shop enough for the rabbit to eat?
Cause the rabbit doesnt seem to like the pallets... it only eat them when i lock the rabbit in the cage.... but when i let it out... it goes around searching for food like it never ate food before...

and when i hand feed the rabbit with that same pallet ... it smells it and it just turn away... but when i hand feed it with vege or anything else... it will eat it up real fast...
and also... why does my rabbit kept pooping? when i clean the cage... and put him back in ... he instantly poops... however if i let it out... it doesnt poops and only poops when i put the rabbit back into the cage....
is it normal for rabbit to poop so much??

Hi there. I a not too sure what brand of pellet are you giving to your bunny. But I do know that a lot of those brandless pellets are those repacked by the pet shop themself. Although the pellets are cheap, but most of these cheap pellets are for commercial use, meaning for large scale rabbit farm where they feed to their rabbits to get them grow up fast for meat or fur. The quality of the pellet are often much inferior and not really suitable for domestic rabbit (pet rabbit). Some even said that the rabbit live a shorter life with those commercial pellets. So try to look for a better feed smile.gif

Rabbit generally likes fresh vege. But feed vege moderately. It is recommended that to only give fresh vege when your bunny turns senior (>6mths old), because at that age, their digestive system is stronger.

Rabbit is generally clean animal, They will have their place of doing their "business". on eof the reason why he only poops in the cage is because he is used to poop only in the cage and not outside, in short you have a toilet trained bunny smile.gif

I am not too sure how much your rabbit poops. But this is also related to the feed that you give to your bunny. if you are feeding those commercial pellet, you will find that they eat constantly and poop a lot. moreover the smells of the urine is also aweful. If you are feeding a good quality feed, I believe they don't eat as much and their poop is lesser and smaller in size. I observed this as i am feeding my rabbit with good pellet smile.gif

Eli, im using a used dog cage with tray, but the tray is so shallow that my rabbit tend to pull n bite the newspapers i laid underneath. My rabbit isnt very disciplined and enjoys his shredding session...

To avoid your rabbit pulling the newspaper from the tray, you can lay the bottom of tha cage with the mesh wire. I use the coated mesh wire (green colour one). Just tie the mesh wire to the bottom of the cage, not only your rabbit will be more comfortable, it will also prevent your rabbit from pulling the newspaper from the tray. Try and see.
