Hi all! In a dilemma now. I am being given a choice to enter in a consulting role with deloitte. I am a fresh ACCA holder with no experience. What would you guys think in regards to this matter? Will going into consulting be too big a leap and should I go into tax (my second choice) to build up my technical knowledge? Also, will consulting help me get my acca membership?

Deloitte call it consulting. It's actually advisory. Not to be mistaken with full fledge management consulting firms such as MBB cluster. Audit junior learning curve experience normally steeper than advisory junior. Audit will peak until you reach senior in charge level. Whereas advisory will start to pickup after year 1 or 2.

In the end it depends on your ability, timing and project. Anyway you join audit or advisory is also big leap from Acca. Study and work is different ady.

Consulting May prolong Acca membership from the minimum 3 years to maybe 4 -5 years. It depends which field you are offered. Hope it helps and welcome to big4 smile.gif
