straight to the point.
if am not mistaken, the 2.0 scorpio suv(2wd) churned out about 185nm of torque nearing 4k rpm and maybe 115hp but at over 2.3 tonne??? the power to weight ratio sux big time. it gonna perform worst than exora or avanza on full load.
as a comparison, exora is a tonne lighter than the scorpio, even at full load, exora barely touch the 2 tonne mark. better power to weight ratio too.
also, scorpio's front suspension are of coil spring which is a same setup on avanza rear. while it's rear suspension are of leaf spring which is similar to
those old truck / lorry. only good thing the leaf spring setup last long after the car gone
in short; the scorpio 2.0 is even more underpower, drink fuel like tomorrow, rare spare parts, unstable at 110km/h ride, worst of all, its like riding a horse with those suspension setup which was tailored to last on kashmir high ground...no offense!
and it require a specialist(slightly costly) to service the renaults' sourced scorpio engine. how reliable is the aged renault engine on scorpio?
no point buying cheap if its not practical. either get a used avanza 1.5 auto or new exora manual. it offer better bang for bucks than the manual scorpio your sister is getting.
just my 2c
