Hi to all sensei of automobil,
I just got my self a set of adjustable absorber with Hight/Low and Soft/Hard adjustment of 24 clicks.
Is there anyway to adjust the ride to almost comfort coz currently I had a stiff and bumpy ride on highway.
I m 1st timer on this stuff. I m driving a vios 1.5G 04 installed with Project-S Adjustable Absorber. Current setting is all max soft on front and rear.
Please help and advise coz if not suitable for my ride I might just sell it off and change it back to stock absorber.
Cheers!
Appreciate if you could help and advise.

Not everyone can stand the stiffness for adjustable. U should have consider sport spring or sport absorber in the first place for daily usage.

Hi SC79 and Woodykids,
Thank u for advise. Actually I m a bit mixed up on these absorbers issues. I always tot adjustable absorber will be good and better quality as well as more comfort. sad.gif
Btw, what's the difference between sports absorber and adjustable?
And based on ur expertise, do I have a chance to remedie my bumpy issue without changing it back to stock? I ve been spending almost 3k for this stuffs if I sell it for 2nd hand is gonna loose of money... sad.gif pls advise. Cheers!

Nothing much u can do. In order to make ur adjustable not bumpy, u have to adjust the pressure in the shock and changing spring rate. And the 24 clicks wont make much difference even if u adjust to the softest, more like a gimmick i would say. Since u willing to fork out 3k for comfort adjustable, u should have go for titan, as far as i know, they able to custom a comfortable adjustable shock for u with good handling too. But the appearance and design wont be as good looking as project s.

And one more thing Ryo, adjustable is not toward comfort. Is on hardcore cornering and track use and almost no body roll. Ur current situation must be jumping like a frog while cruising on highway. While sport absorber improve approximately 10-20% better handling than oem absorber. And most ppl experience sport abs more comfortable due to better rebound and handling. The price too very big difference between adjustable and sport abs. I'm a bit curious the person who sold u the adjustable, the sales person should have explain it to u the difference or let u test drive their sample car equip with project s adjustable, let u know how it feel before u make any purchase. Mind share the shop name to most of our lowyatian?

Consider a total loss for u. Eventually who u planning to sell it to? Who wants to buy a shock that so hard for daily use =.= I'm sure the person who bought the shock from u, will going to experiencing ur situation.

I see, well I guess I m the one to blame actually coz the sales person is very professional and he does his consultation with me before purchase. I did told him I enjoy speed cornering at around 70-90km/h. But just didn't ask in details about how much comfort will I get. To be frank, Project-S really amazed me on 100km/h exit corner on toll.. xP but horse riding on highway.. Haiz..
Oh if I reduce the air pressure on my tire will it help?... Hehehe sorry for asking so much..really appreciated bro. Cheers!

Toyota Vios oem suspension capable to do good cornering up to 100km/h with upgrading wider tyre. So i guess is already too late :C In order to make ur not bumpy, try to fetch additional 3-4 person in ur car. It may sound stupid but it work. But how often u fetch 3-4 person and carry heavy stuff behind ur trunks

Yes, spring can change. But need to add a lot money, and there is no guarantee. Unless u buy titan, go back change spring 100 times also free.

why spring need alot money? full set of adjustable spring cost about rm200, just dont get branded one as u hardly feel any differences.

btw TS, try peek at the spring.. there should got write something like 8k250.. 8k is the stiffness, 250 is the height..
or try ask the seller

Added on December 5, 2010, 1:58 am1 more thing, because urs is full adjustable, and vios was light, u try try using 6k front, 4k rear
if too soft, make it hard

RM200 sound a bit too low price for full a set of adjustable spring. Maybe u can recommend TS where can get those spring. Beside u have to pay extra RM100 for installation. If wrong setup, have to buy another set of spring+installation. Worst case, end up spending more and not able to get the right setup.

Wow! Thanks for that very important info bro. smile.gif I will check it out the spring. Will update the info here if I can see that spring numbers. If not then I need to bring my car to the place that I ve bought the suspension to check it out and perhaps just get the softer spring.
Cheers! Bro smile.gif

Ok bro, I just use a flash light to take a peek on the springs. Front spring stated 18008 while the rear I can't see coz the spring is separated from the absorber.
So, I m not sure this is the right numbers or not. Cheers! xP

now he had tuned to softest setting on the shocks and yet still too stiff.. then perhaps can try buying a softer spring and try 1st.. if too soft, can tune the shocks to become harder.. thats the benefits of getting fully adjustable..

anyway, u can get those unbranded spring at rm200 per set if i remember correctly

When did u go back tuning after u install the unit? If after 1 year, they will charge u upgrade or downgrade the spring. If not mistaken, each spring 100 bucks and u have to give ur spring. No need go back 100 times, few times already can get the setting, unless u r those fussy type of customer. Anyway, talk about titan, go back 3rd or 4th times for tuning already can see their face color change to black. Not like old day, provide tip top service until customer satisfy. Nevertheless, u get the setting u want.

Wow! So many feedback. Thank you to all for advise and comment. Yup I just changed it back to stock absorber. Front KYB and Rear Tokico. No choice coz really not my kinda ride. My car has been tested with Project-s by some pros in car modification and they said project-s still soft compared to their super Vios. Well I guess I m too fragile for these performance stuffs. XP.
Yup I m selling off my few days old Project-s with warranty on and picture will be upload tomorrow.
Cheers! And thank u. xD

ever heard of titan suspension?
design and engineered by some local malaysian

i fitted in my saga with their suspension and its stiff. the best part is every hole or bump it hits it doesnt hurt much and its still comfy smile.gif

http://www.titanshocks.com/

go to the shop and ask them to bring you for a test drive.
