dilemma... cars or models~ o.O

ur focusing needs some practicing~ few misfocused picture...number 10 composition a bit out..some underexposed pics..nice try!

may i ask, flash is fired on every picture? ceiling bounce or diffuser? =D

motion blur. when using flash on 550D did u limit shutterspeed to 1/200?

Thanks...did notice focusing was a bit hard. Changed my focus point to centre after that

How to bounce? The celing so damn high

I just angled it upwards to reduce harshness of the light on the model's faces

I thought max sync speed is 1/200th of a second?

Actually i just used Av, on my flash and just shoot lol~ Actually my flashgun sometimes didn't fire even there's the "green colour" that's why you see some pictures are dark, and the shutter speed is low like 1/15 sec

I still need to learn how to balance between shutter speed and ISO

p/s: which picture you said motion blur? I don't really see any, cuz i only notice slight OOF

try not to crop the models hands, some fingers and elbow are missing. If you want to crop, crop more or don't crop

I expect motorshow pics to display cars or prototypes that yet to be seen in Mysia roads. The model will only compliment the car on display, anyhow i happy to see if there both featured on a photo.

On ur model pics, your composition is too tight, hence u cropping off the model's hands n arms. Pic 5 suffers from OOF.

Well not a bad attempt, but i still desire a photo with a car complimented with a model.

max sync speed is 1/200, dont see a reason why not to use it here. some shots are either oof or suffer from motion blur, i m not good enough to tell.

agree with above poster's comments about female models being secondary to cars, but each to his own.

I will be going to the show tomorrow - for the cars.. and definitely not with my rig ready to pounce on those models like a hungry buaya =\

Thanks for the constructive feedback. Agree that picture is OOF and some others in my flickr Learned that, i should have used centre AF point all the way, as the camera locks on the wrong AF point lol. Either this or my "focus and recompose" is not accurate- too much movement

I'm still kinda new in DSLRs having bought my 550D hardly a month ago, and the Nissin Di622 hardly a few days old, so i've got a long way to go before i fully understand my tools and how to use them effectively

Hey, just a bit of comments on your photostream. hehehe, hopefully a constructive one.

-for the car show, maybe you can try using a CPL. some cars' glass are reflecting too much.
-don't be afraid to zoom out, 18MP has a lot of cropping potential in post-processing later on if you are not confident with the composition that you are getting when shooting.
-try getting a diffuser for the flash.
-annoying but it's really just me, your watermark is

just my 2 cents!
