all nikon lens have international warranty, it doesn't matter where you buy it from.

AFAIK US/SG/UK lens are more exp than local shops, you might find cheaper only in HK
*
Well, certain nikkor lenses are cheaper in US too, and some are cheaper in M'sia..

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Dec 16 2010, 02:39 PM)
that mean grey set can service at BTS ?
*
What Solid means is as long as you buy a non-grey set lens form any country (covered by Nikon Warranty from that country), it is entitled to get serviced by nikon service center around the world.

its not grey as it is covered by nikon warranty, it is international warranty mean u can go in nikon center anywhere in to world to get it serviced regardless where you bought it from as long as you have the warranty card and it is still valid

ONLY APPLIES FOR NIKKOR LENS
*

Talking about GGS, I was trying to find one and I came across GGS III Generation for D90..its made of the same glass i think but it is fixed to the camera like BM-10..and they also give another extra protector for the viewfinder, along with the one for the top lcd..

http://cgi.ebay.com/GGS-III-LCD-Screen-Pro...=item3cb141102a

And here is a youtube link showing how to attach the new GGS

At last been able to hold a SB700 today, the size is very similar to SB600 eh blush.gif

Ytd who said the Version 3 of the GGS screen protector of D90 fits like a glove on the D7000??  hmm.gif  I tried, but can't...... anyway it's a good deal if you like the hook on type of plastic, VersionIII 3 piece set difference of 5 bucks only compared the older 2 piece set.
*
Kenot fit eh? haha i dunno, just read some reviews on amazon that said it fits tongue.gif

Well, in my own experience, i found 35mm 1.8G was very sharp wide open, at least for my copy..and in US G version is more popular than the D version. the only problem i had with my previous 1.8G is persistant backfocusing problem. after sending to Nikon it came back front focusing so i sold it. comparing to 50mm 1.8D, my 35mm 1.8G is way sharper. but i have no experience with 35mm D. here are some sample photos i took at f1.8, direct convertion from raw to jpeg

and as i mentioned i found my lens focusing is unreliable..the first shot of that guy came out like this..so no more 35mm 1.8G for me blush.gif

For the back focus photo, are you using single point or auto area point? It looks like a method problem instead.
*
I was using single point actually, never use auto area..i took around 500+ pictures dat day, around 100+ were backfocused..at one point, i took the same pic of a person several times and all of them (around 4-5 times) were backfocused..that made me realized sumthing was wrong and then i checked all the pics i took dat day and i found out the prob.. didnt realized it at fisrt coz not so obvious on the camera's lcd

QUOTE(KTCY @ Dec 21 2010, 01:42 PM)
I take that you focus on the middle lady's eyes. Looks good but not the best yet. A little soft still laugh.gif
See this original size and you will know what I mean tongue.gif
Haha I agree, more sharpness need to spend more i guess tongue.gif maybe I will try 35mm f/2 in the near future and see how do i like it..

I think, is not regarding the back focus and etc. You're shooting at f/1.8 even 3 person. How to get everyone sharp ? Basically, the photos were OOF for the 2 person besides.
*
Erm, i'm not talking about that photo. i know why the people beside her were not in focus sweat.gif i shot with my other lenses before this and never had backfocusing before..for example the picture here, my focus point is at the lady wearing red's face..but the shap area is at the back, the guy and the women behind..and that is not motion blur because i took it at 1/1000sec..and this is at f/2.8, not 1.8..

another example, the focus point is at the guy playing guitar but the banner behind is in focus..

My weirdest problem is whenever I shoot portraits, depending on the size of their eyes. Usually I can get dead on focusing when the girls' eyes are big and wide open. I think probably the light that falls on the face might confuse the AF... sweat.gif
*
maybe due to the bigger area of contrast (black and white on the eye)

And when i tried it after coming back from nikon service, not a single backfocusing occur, only front focus and some damage on the logo plate..i even took a few sample photos, including one using a focus chart and emailed to them..so they paid me shipping and ask me to send back the lens..after two weeks, the lens came, they changed the plate but the lens was still front focused..if only i can go there and maki them myself mad.gif

But the sample you showed is very obvious focused on the background instead of your subject.
Dats y i felt sumthing is very wrong with my lens..never had such problems with my other lenses..in the viewfinder it appeared to be OK too..

1 week and a few photoshoots? are they ur frens? u alwiz have cute girls around u tongue.gif I hope i will have some opportunities to join any photoshoot when i come back to malaysia..model pics in this thread are very poisonous

Btw for D7000 users, the new firmware is already out:

http://nikonasia-en.custhelp.com/app/answe...etail/a_id/6938

Here is the description from the website:

Bright spots were sometimes noticeable with movie recording of especially dark scenes or subjects. Occurrence of this issue has been reduced.
*After the firmware is upgraded, bright spots may be visible in the monitor while the camera is autofocusing with the shutter-release button pressed halfway in live view mode. However, these bright spots are not recorded with still images and movies and are not visible in the monitor while the camera is autofocusing during movie recording.
