GEORGE TOWN: Investigations into the road accident that killed a Malaysia Airlines stewardess showed the other car involved was travelling against traffic.

State traffic police enforcement/operations chief Asst Supt Ahmad Ezzely Razali said eyewitnesses told the investigating officer that the 22-year-old youth had turned into the wrong lane upon coming out of a petrol kiosk.

“We will record the youth’s statement once he is declared fit by doctors at the Penang Hospital.

“He is unable to speak presently due to injuries to his mouth and cheeks,” he said.

On Tuesday, stewardess Ng Sweet Yuin, 27, died on the spot after her Perodua MyVi was involved in a head-on collision with the vehicle driven by the youth on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway at 3.15am.

ASP Ahmad Ezzely said the road divider was not dented or damaged, thus ruling out the possibility that the youth’s car had “jumped over” from the opposite direction before crashing into Ng’s car.

“Blood samples have been taken from the drivers to determine if either of them were intoxicated or high on drugs.

“Both cars have also been sent to Puspakom for tests.

“The case is being investigated as causing death by reckless or dangerous driving under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ng’s mother Thniah Poh Choo, 52, said the family would seek legal redress over the incident.

abs dont help in this situation ok. do you guys drive abs car before or not? you know how its working?
only discbrake without abs will help to reduce the speed. if u r driving abs car and when you almost hit ppl and emergency brake and road uneven, your car brake will let go. this abs brake is not suitable for women. mostly of them dont know use when panic.. you need to release brake again and press again.. and many victim just pressed to max the brake and never let go and press again when come to the situation..

An air stewardess' life is hard, contrary to popular belief. All these MAS cabin crew are based in Kuala Lumpur and many rarely ever get to see their family and friends back home because their roster only allows for a few days of rest after flight.

What's wrong with Sweet Yuin catching up with friends and heading home at 3:15am? I know her personally and I know of many cabin crew friends. If they ever get a chance to go home, their friends and family are usually ecstatic for a chance to catch up.

Sweet is one of the best godsisters I ever had.I knew her only for a short period..but wherever she went whether is Korea or Spain or when she is back in KL,she never fail to message me or call me.

We would talk often.When I was sick,she would message me/call me to ask how I was.

The night this incident took place,she insisted to see me but I did not go..and how I wish I did.

Sweet was like her name a sweet person in nature.Her laughter and smile is contagious.

I never thought I would love someone I knew in such a short time this much,but I did..Sweet my sis no matter where you are I will always love and cherish the memories we have.

To those insensitive people,please respect my sis and her family and yes stop commenting about what car she drive /how fancy it should be/what airbags/safety equipemtn should be install...

And for those who mention her being drunk...she was not..she is a responsible girl..

She promise to bring me around when I am down in Kl to classy  jazz clubs..my sis is not into 'typical clubbing'..so to those who mention she was clubbing..she was not.She also do not like to drink much.
