It's all lies, and just a means to divert attention away from the main problem.. their f'ked up implementation of the 'network management' routine...

Can't believe they'd let that out into the wild without testing its impact on a closed environment 1st... there has never been such an outcry of discontent for TMNUTz even with all their previous harebrained schemes to save money to fatten their wallets further...

Latest news.

"There was unfortunately an ipcore breakdown over the weekend which was restored within a day but may have also impacted our our refinement exercise. Even as we speak they are continually refining."

2 more days before the rest of the fixes make it across all users.

Thanks for the update mate.. Hopefully they fix the cappage at TTDI too.. It's just too much.....

Hmm.. don't know whether i should be posting this (was waiting till 24 hrs have elapsed) but i've been uncapped since midnight until now....

Fingers crossed.. This must be the temporary relaxation of the cap until the rod is further rammed up our collective behinds lol....

On a side note, can we please not Shoot the messengers? Those people bring updates that we may or may not like and are performing a service for us. Direct the hate to where it deserves... TMNUT.....

Tentris and Reuben, once again thanks for trying with the TPTB.. A lot of haters who're blind with rage here are just too emotionally charged to see that you're only trying to help out...

BIZ5 unlimited usage also.

That is true..

Imagine everyone subscribes BIZ 5 @ RM 199.. DDL 24/7... who's to say TMNUT won't pull off that same stunt again lol......

Heck i'd gladly pay RM 199 for the peace of mind of 5 Mbps with no caps....

Why can't they just make it a consumer package instead of putting all those preconditions with it lol....

Itu RACIS!! Lol just joking...

We need better representation on LYN Frontpage for Streamyx..

But i guess we're old news eh? After years of taking it up the bum, our troubles aren't even worth a mention even on LYN's own frontpage anymore even though it potentially affects millions in Malaysia....

Simple answer?

None.

Unifi said to be capped already.

So is Streamyx.

When capped you only get 1 Mbps after 10 am until 2 am the next day like what happened this past week....

Uncapped speeds are great.. 3.5 to 3.6 Mbps is about standard...

I am of course, referring to Streamyx.

It's 528 pm and speeds are still good lol....

More than 36 hours have elapsed now... and i notice not many complaints here now.. so.. the relaxed controls must still be on...

Still waiting for the proverbial rod to be jammed up our ***** though...

Fingers still crossed...

If all it takes to bypass this stupid cap is a local proxy, the 1st one to offer paid services for a reliable local proxy will be very very filthy rich..

VERY RICH.

Rueben, what say you? Start a BolehVPN proxy in Malaysia.. i guarantee the heavies will swarm there to get back their uncapped speeds....

I know i would...

Coz VPN is still considered an international link unless VPN hosted locally in M'sia like the local proxy... then can escape cap....

as long as tmnut has that ridiculous 2GB daily cap on unifi, i am not even going to consider subscribing to it.
*
Lol the best option right now is still Screamyx, even with all its BS caps...

I calculated that in one day even if you're capped to 1 Mbps between 10 am and 2 am (16 hours a day) and get your full (3.5 - 4 Mbps) speed for only 8 hours a day.. you can still get a total of 12 GiBis during the uncapped time plus around 7 GiBis during the capped time equals 19 - 20 GiBis a day which adds up to nearly 600 GiBis a month...

Still worth it!

Compare that with 60, 100 and 120 from the Unifi packages... Unifi FAILS!

TLDR; Streamyx 4 Mbps capped to 1 Mbps 16 hours a day still gives nearly 20 GBs everyday which totals up to 600 GB a month 24/7...

And the sad thing is you obviously appear very proud of your download achievements, given that your showing TM as to why the cap was introduced in the first place I'm guessing you would be classified as a "TM Defender".

Rather than re-introducing a cap/introducing quotas TM should initially look at banning users such as you, Streamyx would be a much more enjoyable experience for everyone else.
*
TM Defender? I've smacked TMNUT when they deserved it, and also praised them when they deserved it. Just telling it like how it is...

Far from it, my good man, far from it...

If it wasn't for 'heavy' users like me, we would still be stuck in the 56 kbps Dialup era.. We heavies are the drivers of the increased speeds and capacities, don't you ever forget that.

No Demand = No improvements for speed/bandwidth requirements = Stagnation = No progress

Also..... Getting the speed that you pay for and using it = Right of the customer...

Now before you say that the price does not justify the capacity i use, i'll be the 1st to agree to a higher priced tier for heavy users like me...

Both light and heavies have their place in the broadband industry.... Now if TM fails to deliver because of their lack of pipes.. well.. why blame the heavies? We all paid for it, no one gets a free lunch, and what has TM done with the hundreds of millions of Ringgit that it has accrued from us since they began? Did they spend it on widening the international pipes sufficiently? What they did instead was to hastily introduce a fiber network that just adds to the burden of the limited international bandwidth they already have... thus compounding the problem....

Thanks for the feedback I wasn't aware that the "illegal movie downloaders" were responsible for driving the increase in speed and capacities. If this is the case maybe TM should update their terms and conditions to clarify their transmission of certain material.

I suppose the "illegal movie downloaders" are also responsible for the reduction in costs of legal DVDs, oh wait...
*
Here we go again, with the all too familiar tired tactic of labelling all heavies as illegal movie downloaders..

Perhaps you haven't heard of a thing called Steam, and LEGAL game downloads (which weigh many GBs) that you pay for? How about episodes of TV Shows in HD that i can purchase from Itunes? How about Youtube in 720p and 1080p HD? How about multiple GB game updates from games like WoW, which last i heard required almost 10+ GB for the Cataclysm expansion update?

Your ignorance is astounding. Perhaps we should all be using our broadband for e-mail and surfing websites only as you imply.

Just one 2 TB drive will last yah about 2 months on a 4 Mbps Streamyx line, then

Balance's Inflexion Point comes into play : where the cost of storing the data is greater than the cost of downloading it...

Capping is back on to some extent for me too... but from 440 kBps to about 360-380 kBps (3 Mbps)

Not too bad if it's minimal... traffic management should be minimal and non intrusive to the whole experience...
