there are actually alot more promotion in US xbl and some free stuff + last.fm. the xbl kinda messy right now, theres massive overhaul of xbl happen now. Thats why MS is charging $59.99

there's some lite gamer. the one who can afford to buy XBLA/retail games but don't hv enough time to play all of them
old skool gamers mostly(N64,atari,etc), got to more spend time with family & work rather than their hobby 
+ they dont really care about GS or trophies

very few old skool gamers that are achievement/trophy whores

i think its quite the opposite, very few lite gamers and significant 'heavy duty' players. I hardly think its a good investment to buy a console just to play 64 bit games. But I guess the real reason M$ not doing anything about gamerscore is because it doesn't make them any $$$.
