Yeah, see if you follow the video, there is a 5th option which is HBOOT USB...
I don't see that :|....
I'm currently stuck at that at the moment, advice ):

I have installed the Android Bootloader on my Windows, though.
*
did you already installed HTC Sync?
try installing it then uninstall the HTC Sync software, because you only need the USB driver that comes with it
NOT sure if it works though, if it doesn't don't blame me tongue.gif

QUOTE(milkcircus @ Dec 29 2010, 11:29 PM)
Yup,the phone is rooted...done setting with setcpu..but doesnt help alot...havent try juice defender yet..
Done the calibration ytd..also doesnt affect the battery life..T.T
*
since your phone is rooted, what ROM are you on?
if you haven't tried AdamG's Oxygen V2 ROM, maybe you should give it a go

so far the best battery performance I've gotten from any ROM is Oxygen,
it could just be me though.. but the battery performance is really amazing on this ROM,
would recommend using it if battery life is your priority

just today, the phone lasted for about 6 hours with heavy wifi and gaming usage (1~2 hours of internet surfing + 1~2 hours of gaming)
that is with battery left only 50+% drained down to 0%

I don't use HTC Sync.

I just want to root it for the app2sd and some other cool features. smile.gif
*
yes, I don't use it too,
but you need to install it to get the USB driver that comes with it,
after installing HTC Sync you have to uninstall the software and leave only the USB driver

I'm happy with clockwork hboot. Just don't see the benefit to install custom hboot.
*
besides the bigger internal storage due to custom position,
you also get to flash custom splash screen with a s-off device

the possibility to brick your phone is there, but it is really near impossible if you follow the guide thoroughly nod.gif
so you don't have to worry too much

quality oklah.. but word of caution.. pay very high attention when applying the material on yr casing.. n be ready to spend few hours to get it all done.. muahahaha..
*
wow luckily someone is using! happy.gif

hmm..I'm thinking of getting only the screen protector,
since I don't want to cover the whole phone

does the screen protector fit nicely to the screen
or are there small parts that is not covered hence making the SP layer visible?

is the surface of the SP "sticky"?
like resistant to swipe around the screen?

if just screen protector u dun need idefense. the product niche is actually for the body.. not d screen.. u can just consider the screen protector as added stuff only..

if i were u i go get screen protector from other ppl in lyn.. cheaper & work just as much or even better.. mine oso just use normal type.. cost rm8 or sumthin last time.. still last till today.. dun go buy matte or those mirror type, gonna give u big headache if u really wanna enjoy the screen clarity..

btw, there's no such thing as screen protector that fit entirely nicely with yr amoled/slcd.. unless u potong sendiri lor.. ekeke.. dun worry.. even if not fit 100% u dun hv to worry coz yr screen oso still got border all over the place.. all screen protector will definitely cover beyond these border...
*
ok thanks for the advice biggrin.gif guess I'll settle for the normal ones then

Hmm caught in a dilemma..Can't choose between these 3 cases:

CM Tough
Otterbox Commuter
Otterbox Defender

Anyone who has used any of these care to give some feedback?
*
I don't own any of those, but personally would go for Otterbox Commuter! laugh.gif

QUOTE(bomberman @ Jan 6 2011, 04:25 PM)
guys,

no doubt our desire is one of the Power Android Phone, but this budget LG Optimus One (selling at RM899 only~~) seems like perform as good as our Desire with the benchmark (quadrant) with score of 1285 (please see this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870640) where my desire (with DHD rom - ReflexTsense ROM) only score 1385.

seems like our desire only wins this Optimus one at few things: 3.7" Amoled / SLCD display, Bigger ROM size (this can be eliminate with the A2sd+, so basically is not a issue for LG) for application.

advantage of LG Optimus One vs Desire: do not have heating problem as our Desire, cheaper price (almost more than 50%), bluetooth 3.0 (desire 2.1), wireless b/g/n (desire - b/g), longer batt life.

what's ur guys opinion???
*
not everything can be measured through benchmarking,

just the screen resolution alone (HVGA vs WVGA) already means the Desire wins hands down.

this is because resolution plays a very significant role in Android apps that are supported, especially game apps.

Why not you guys do a test on your memory card and share there. That way we all know whether we shall invest in a class2, 4,6 or 10.

U can do the test using J Disk Benchmark 2.0 , can be downloaded from Market.

Please share.  icon_idea.gif

Im on 2 GB Memory card. No class written on it, no brand.

Test Results :
Write performance : 1.49(MB/s)
Read Performance : 2.34(MB/s)

*
Kingmax class10 8GB

data size: 10MB
buffer size: 4kb
write: 2.88
read: 4.31

data size: 500MB
buffer size: 1024kb
write: 6.21
read: 19.98

double write, slight improvement in read, hmmm  hmm.gif
the results attained from this benchmark is way different than what I'd expect compared with pc's benchmark
*
I suspect that my result is on the low side, due to the other benchmark I compared to bro hazril's
maybe bro hazril test to confirm? smile.gif

Thank you! There really seems like a lot of things u can configured for the HTC Desire...really nice!

Added on January 9, 2011, 12:10 amAnother question...

1) Anyway to go 'Back' without pressing the 'back' physical button?

2) When i go 'back' or 'home'...is the apps close or still running? How to ensure everytime the app is closed?
*
happy.gif

there's no way to go back without the physical button,
that's why every android phone has that 'back' button
most of the times when you exit the app by pressing the back button, the app is closed
if you press home, it is only minimized
if you want to force close an app, for reasons like the back button does not kill it or its not responding,
you can either go to the settings->application->manage application-> running and pick the apps to kill,
or just use a task killer app, such as the 'quick system info' app

now you're only on stock ROM, the things you can customized is minimal still..
wait till you go to the dark side brows.gif
