Yes, Heng. Quite a nice dude, always offer me teh tarik for free although I am not buying....

Anyways, try calling people like Eric from Creative Damansara and Studio Zaloon's Unker Chin to compare some pricing. Note the word, CALL and not pm via forums....

Type of camera/lens/accesories :  Compact Interchangeable Lens
Budget: 2k-3k
Your Location:   Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Preferable brand :  N/A
Type of photography u want to do :  Macro, Video, Potrait, Landscape, Pet  ... etc
Any specific models in mind? :  Nex by Sony? (only Compact Interchangeable Lens i know, please recommend other brand and model biggrin.gif)
Any specific features u want? :  Changeable Lens? Dial to change the menu.

Coming from using Cybershot dsc-wx1 - was planning to buy adapter to 30mm but don't know much about lens and what lens can use if i bought the adapter.
So i plan to buy interchangeable Lens compact camera ... not interested in DSLR.
Please recommend biggrin.gif

Well, Nex is a good option, why not? Since you got the budget anyways.

So, that's mean i will get a (one) lens right. At first, i think i will be given a set of maybe 3-4 lens blush.gif . LOL... Silly me. I think I'll stick to D5100. And the lens issue, I'm not thinking of changing the lens at the nearest time. And even though the lens are expensive, I still be able to buy it since I can buy the cam. Thanks for the opinion.
*
For that price, I rather go A65/A55 for video capabilities~"

D5100 is good, just the lack of autofocus motor kills my mood.

Nex 5n around your budget, slightly more but very compact, very fast response.

Quite good, unless you want to buy a DSLR for double the weight lo.

No such thing as limited, more like diff range of lens from each brand to another.

There's roughly 84 lens and counting 4 you to use, is that enough?

I have lotsa happy user that was previously using high end DSLR which is happily using Nex saying that its operation speed and autofocus is fast and tack on. Even the touch screen is responsive, albeit not really 100% useful.

Plus, in terms of JPEG, the Nex 5n produces a better JPEG output at higher iso compared to the 550/600D~" At least, for those pixel peeper.

Am looking at NEX C3 now, is there any other models you can recommend that is on par? Would like to compare if possible =)

Edit: I saw some comments that the Sony NEX C3 does not have built-in flash, and it requires a better lens than the kit lens to take more stable pictures as the focus isn't that great. Any users can explain whether these comments are true? What if I were to compare NEX C3 with S95, which camera would be better in terms of producing a DSLR-quality pictures? I've seen some pictures from my friends with the S95 and the quality picture weren't that great (not sure if they used the wrong settings).

Help is much appreciated. Thanks!
*
Focus ain't great?

Compared to compact camera, the sensor size of Nex also, is sheer win for me already.

Image quality and low light performance, I think the Nex will be on top smile.gif

Nex uses DSLR sized sensor btw..

Thanks for your response! Sorry if I offended u, just writing out what I read from other users review.  notworthy.gif

I used this link to compare the cameras and it stated that NEX-C3 does not have image stabilization. Is this because of the kit lens? Because, i mean we tend to shake our hands sometimes when taking pictures and end up with a blur picture lol.
*
Not offended at all~"

Just pointing out some facts, that people overlook sometimes.

Yes, the nex have no image stabilization, unlike the Olympus or etc, but with little practice, I am sure you can snap pretty decent picture smile.gif

Plus, the kit lens, does come with stabilization, so its only a problem if you get an adapter and mount in other lens/etc.

You can get an A33 for that range and its way better than the entry level 1100D

oh..go with a better, but mid range dslr like the nikon 5100D. I think that's ok

In what way the midrange dslr is better than the A35?

Plus, D5100 is an entry level dslr, not a midrange.. Midrange is likely like D90/D7k.

Hi all experts out there....is it worth to buy a used NIKON D5000 (with 18-55mm lens)  for RM1350? Shutter Count abt 21K alr... Pls ..need advice..TQ ;-)
*
Add about 600 more, you can get D3100 new

Or maybe a Sony A33 which is going around for 1,8k now. Waffor buy old, if you can get new at slightly more?

21k shutter count is not little, too.

Hi. Im planning to buy a m43 cam. Any Suggestions from anyone?

Type of camera: m43
Budget: <RM2k or around rm2k
Location: Puchong
Preferable brand: Pana, Sony
Type of photography: General (landscape, portraits, low light, quick action, nature..etc)
Any specific models in mind? :  Pana GF2, Sony NEX series
Any specific features u want? : good quality image in low light
*
Sony's not a m43. It has a DSLR sized sensor and it's not as small as those Pana series too.

If you want good quality in low light, then you are looking at the Nex series then with superior sensor size to give an advantage during low light situation.
