I'm searching for digital camera...not DSLR..
So got recommended model for <RM 800??

I afraid power-house compact cameras are mostly around RM1k~1.5k. Here are a few of power-house PNS cameras:
PNS
Canon S95
Nikon Coolpix P300
Nikon Coolpix P500
Panasonic LX-3
Panasonic LX-5
Micro Four Thirds
Olympus EPL 1
Olympus EPL 2
Sony NEX-5
Sony NEX-3
Panasonic GH 2

Good luck finding the right cameras for you

HELP !
After many many revisions I've decided on getting Canon 550d or Canon 500d. so my question is. if i only care abt taking stills and couldn't be bothered about the movie capabilities which do i pick ?
*
The difference is not so distinctive. 550D is slightly better than 500D. If you want to save money on other accessories, you may consider 500D

I used to be GF1 user and planning to go for DSLR. I am not sure which brand should i choose. I prefer Canon as i like the overall color tone. And the remaining budget can go for zoom lens during my travel.

However my friend is using D700 now, he recommended me to go Nikon for its sharpness.

Planning to get it around end of July. Any advise for me? Thanks.

Between those 2, there's no doubt that D7000 is at the winning edge

Get D7000 instead. It's around that price and buy from official Nikon dealers if you scare of cheater.

I saw the price list from Garage Sales there,
Price for 60D & 600D

Canon EOS 60D 18-135 (4gb / Bag / Tripod / SP) RM3899.00

Canon EOS 600D 18-135 (4gb / Bag / Tripod / SP) RM3319.00

The price only diff RM580, so is it worth to get 60D with only extra RM580?

I'd checked the price of TX10 on sony malaysia's website.
it's just RM1299!!
but TX9 cost RM1499 >.<
It's about the price of TX100V!

I thk i shud try to check it out..
whether TX9 suit me or TX10 suit me..

Is TX10 available in M'sia now?
*
If I were to choose, I choose TX9 because it is packed with more and better features. I won't bring my camera underwater even if it's waterproof so waterproof just isn't attract me that much

This shows that D7000 more suits me. Early This year i got my eye on D300s but the shop owner said wait 1st. Will check it out. So D7000 is like what advance beginner? Not the early stage right?

Like the advice before buy more on which most frenz use so u can share the lens or knowledge its kinda true.

Any shop that u guys can recommend?

Your family really rich. Everyone owns a DSLR. I suggest you get Nikon and save money on lens. Your dad might have a good collection of lens to use too.

Ask your canon sister to buy Nikon to Canon adapter to use your dad and elder sis's lens. She loses Auto Focus feature and nothing more.

If she use Nikon just no auto focus feature? aaa. She's using 550D now. She did ask me to buy Nikon so she can test it out. If i buy Canon good for her coz she can cabut my lense.
Btw what cam u use? More to potrait?

Saving money for EPL-2. I like light-weight and small lens smile.gif Canon 550D is great too. My friend lend me to try it out. At first, I oso thought of getting 550D/600D but if I carry a lot, I decided to get EPL-2 instead for decent quality and lens flexibility.

EPL2 is the same line with canon g12 sony nex-3/nex-5 and panasonic gf-2. Im also in dilemma between this 4. maybe price will decide the winner.
*
I finish compare le. EPL-2 already wins my heart. Canon G12 & NEX series lose at preliminary stage. I compare GF2 and EPL2 - close call but I decide EPL2 in the end.

QUOTE(Hemohemo @ Mar 16 2011, 04:23 PM)
Ic, for light weight is also a need. Always bring the big guns also no use la. Want to go for ride ( rollercoaster ) hard la. But for travelling and leisure its a must for the big guns. The best part about camera is it got me close to someone ^^  wub.gif
*
For guys' hands, DSLR will make more sense for us. The grip is more comfortable. M43 type camera is a little too small for our grip but EPL-2 is just right since my hand isn't that big for a guy. NEX series is way too small for my hands.
