Question about Unifi, watching IPTV, and using VOIP, will it use up our bandwidth? Streaming IPTV for long time will suddenly make us reach 60GB cap???? I wanna subscribe but I'm worried about this. Watch too much IPTV (especially the subscribed HD channels) will take up bandwidth and makes us exceed our 60GB cap??? Plz enlighten me.

guys, in need of help here, subscribed to Unifi VIP5 3 days ago, at Carrefour Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, from one of the booths there, filled up the form and stuff, they said the unifi people will e-mail me. And they did, received the e-mail yesterday, that's normal right? From DONOTREPLY@Unifi.my, told me to go to unifi.my, logged in, changed passwords blah blah blah, what now? In the e-mail they stated there will come and fix on 11th February, what should I do now? Added on January 23, 2011, 3:00 pmQUOTE(poyol @ Jan 22 2011, 07:43 PM) me same case as you bro. if i cancel and re-register to be eligible for the Free Installation, my next available date for installation would've been after CNY.... i think saving RM200 for 2 weeks is worth the wait... question, can my Aztech Router WL830RT4 replace the DIR-615? Got this router for about... 5 months already, works like a charm for me now (using Streamyx 1MBPS, my unifi's coming this Friday, 2 days from now)
Now, I'm not the kind of person who turns on his routers and everything for more than a week, usually only around 48 hours max. (mostly less than 15 hours at a time)
OH, one more thing, the DIR-615 by TM, is it any different than the original DIR-615? I hope TM didn't change its settings or anything...? 'cuz it isn't a too bad of a router according to the sites i saw on Google.

QUOTE(yakumo @ Feb 9 2011, 07:21 PM) erm question any VIP5 user having problem streaming 1080 p youtube videos? mine always buffering when i try streaming test 1080 p videos on youtube of course la. http://www.bwmonitor.com/download this software, see what's your speed while you're streaming 1080p vids, if it's at your max speed and the video is still buffering, then VIP5 isn't enough for smooth 1080p viewing.

QUOTE(rjb123 @ Feb 9 2011, 07:32 PM) Damn router seems to have broken today, the TM supplied DIR-615 , just power light on and nothing else - works for a few minutes then stops !! Replaced it with a WR841ND , not tested IPTV if that works yet - but internet is fine. Not spoken to TM yet, needed to get it fixed urgently as I have some work to do from home ! erm, mind telling me how many years is the warranty for DIR-615? Oh and hey guys, about the question I asked earlier, about what's the difference between TM's modified DIR-615 and the original D-Link DIR-615, so now I know the difference, but I don't quite understand it, does that mean that TM's modified one is better or..?

QUOTE(BlueWind @ Feb 10 2011, 08:48 PM) By default TM will be giving you all the necessary equipments to enjoy the service. If you want stability and better performance then you will need to get your own router and follow riz's guide. sorry, I didn't quite get that, does it mean I'll get a DIR-615?

QUOTE(BlueWind @ Feb 10 2011, 09:26 PM) Thanks, but I have been trying to find out that with RB250 and RB750 performance wise is it almost identical? Actually, what I think is that for a typical user who only looks for replacement and a little bit of control on network like QoS, port forwarding, etc is best to go with RB250GS. Am I right to think that? Yes, you will get DIR 615. To be precise, most likely you will get DIR 615 G2 flashed with 7.09 firmware I think. am I supposed to be modifying the firmware after this? Without their help?
