Yes, component cable is able to support 720p HD but Grabber is still a SD capture device despite being able to support component input. It records max at 576p PAL or 480o NTSC but you can render the recorded videos to 720p or 1080p HD if you want to watch on big screen. Nevertheless, everything still look better with component input on Grabber. Check out my next comparison post for gaming smile.gif

Latest comparison videos and screenshots for Xbox 360 gaming. Do take note that the videos has been rendered and edited to give better quality, the screenshots however are not.

Conclusion: For Xbox 360 source, best quality from highest to lowest: Grabber Component > Easycap S-Video> Grabber S-Video > Grabber Composite > Easycap Composite

This is purely my opinion and may subject to differ entirely from yours. When both on rca composiite, I find Grabber seems to have slightly sharper and clearer texts than Easycap. However, the texts on composite is still not clear for heavy reading. On the other hand, when both on s-video, Easycap seems to me is slightly sharper than Grabber. The texts is clear and details are sharper on S-Video hence if you can, always use to S-Video instead of composite on both devices for better improvement. Lastly, Grabber component is the best because it has the sharpest and best color control than S-video or composite. That's all, folks. Thanks for reading! smile.gif

I know how that feel, bro. 720p HD capture devices is more powerful but can cost from RM450-700 with the popular one being Hauppauge HD PVR, Blackmagic Intensity, Avermedia Game Capture HD and Elgato Game Capture HD. I have little knowledge in them though simply because I never have one to play with sad.gif You can read some reviews online or watch youtube videos for their video quality.

Avermedia Game Capture HD review

Elgato Game Capture HD review

As for SD devices, there are other brands like Dazzle, Roxio and Elgato but I think it's more or less on par with Easycap except Grabber has slight advantage of having component input smile.gif

I'm not sure about this but normally not. The recordings you made will be store in the pc/laptop internal HDD/external HDD/USB flashdrive you attached to, not in the capture device itself as it has no internal storage. Except for Avermedia which is a standalone capture device, there's a slot on the underside of the unit where a basic 2.5" SATA hard drive can be inserted but I'm not sure if the HDD is included or you have to buy separately smile.gif

Ah, I see. Perhaps some sellers might sell with a hdd together as a package at discounted price. I haven't been to Lowyat lately so no clue if they do sell them locally or not. Hopefully some shops will import them smile.gif

@ps3roxor: If you cannot get audio in your recording, there are multiple reasons for it. One, you need to know if your recording device is genuine or not as the fake ones has different chipset inside so the audio drivers you're using may have conflict with the device. Second, it could be your software settings is not properly setup. Third, your cable connection is loose or faulty cable problem. You should check back with the seller about your audio problem smile.gif

Sorry, I'm out of stock for Grabber right now but if you're willing to wait about 2 weeks, I can order it for you. COD is preferable in Ampang, if not, inside any STAR lrt station. Sent you a PM smile.gif
