It's closer to 70-80% cheaper than local pricing especially during Christmas sales. Looking forward to some Christmas shopping smile.gif

I used to be a Klipsch Promedia pc speaker distributor for Malaysia many many years ago when I had a showroom in lowyat. The most expensive thing is the shipping cost. Other than that, the prices can be 'altered' for lower custom charges. Most companies do this rather than to pay high cost of tax.

made in malaysia, but the items from factory are not sent directly to stores here ya know...

they are sent to HQ or worldwide distribution centers, and distributed to countries all over the world, including MY. So when that happens, tax, shipping, markup, etc and there you have it smile.gif

if I remember correctly, even for Intel processors, overclockers would prefer processors made in Malaysia (Penang) as opposed to places like Costa Rica, Philippines etc due to the perception that it was of higher quality, better overclockability etc...Intel stated that they were all the same, but perceptions persist nevertheless

Yes, i agree with u,

for example, AMD want to assemble CPU in malaysia,
and all the gross meterial is coming from country like US,
AMD will make agreement with Malaysia goverment that AMD didnt have to pay taxes,
what ever coming from US must be go back to US, (include kotak-kotak skali),

When this CPU sell in malaysia, price will be up cause by taxes, transportation, warehouse, tax again, tax shop and many more.

So like DR.M told/said, dont keep your money under your pillow, save it in the bank and keep the money moving, so bank capable to give loan,
and someone (yang nak berlagak tapi takde duit) get car loan, credit card, house loan, etc..
This will make every one "rasa untung" , bank claim interest, someone happy the new car, and you will get dividend from bank.

But the most "untung" is the government, everything what happen there will be taxed, someone with new car may want to go "jalan-jalan", he will fill petrol for the car, tax again.

Im glad i live in Malaysia, we almost have FREE school and hospital, and goverment subsidies for everyone.
