4820TG for performance and good battery life, unless youw anna opt for a bigger screen, then get the Dell 15R.

May I also add a question? - I don't want to create another thread and clutter the forums.
I am also after a similarly priced laptop (<3K) with options for gaming and Lightroom 3 processing but it will be placed at home on my desk 99% of the time (opting for a laptop due to space constraints). My question is, will any of the shortlist laptops listed by lee_what2004 be good enough if I intend to hook it up to an external monitor (approximate 22 inches +)? Or I must get a laptop with certain specs (i.e. graphics card) if it is to be used with a large 22 inches + monitor? Thank you. Justin. This post has been edited by Xtrivia: Nov 27 2010, 10:00 PM |

Nope, any laptop now can be used with 22'' screen, just make sure you got the correct connector (hdmi, vga, display port)...
Playing games in FullHD in 22'', that's another story.... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Nov 27 2010, 10:12 PM |

But overall I think Dell's customer services can put us at ease so I'd recommend Dell. The specs for the XPS 15 are actually decently priced.

it's not abt being expert or wat... sound is a totally different topic... unlile hardware where there's benchmark to refer to, sound is a very subjective topic... some prefer bassy earphone, some prefer treble, some prefer a mix of everything... there's no definite standard...

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Dec 10 2010, 02:01 PM) nope, my taste is normal only, when comes to audioi ve 2 pairs of earphones, both are engineered for a balance between bass and treble... frankly, unless u re very particular, listens to instrumental and has good quality song file (not talking abt MP3, sth like lossless), i honestly dun see the need to get an expensive earphone... tried my friend'd Ultimate Ear SupreFi before, not much diff compared to my Sennheiser CX300II on my daily songs... again i need to emphasize this, try out the earphones u re interested with and judge urself if it's suitable for u... some of the brands u may want to look at: Sony, Panasonic, Sennheiser, Klipsh, Pioneer, TDK, audio-technica This post has been edited by astria: Dec 10 2010, 03:06 PM |

QUOTE(putochip123 @ Dec 10 2010, 02:21 PM) If ts looking for headset, roccat kave would be ur choice. Inspiron speaker for me is vry good enough compare to same range ofnlaptop from other brand Kave is not dynamic. suck when listening to music using that headphone, but did a very good job in surround gaming.QUOTE(astria @ Dec 10 2010, 03:06 PM) frankly, unless u re very particular, listens to instrumental and has good quality song file (not talking abt MP3, sth like lossless), i honestly dun see the need to get an expensive earphone... tried my friend'd Ultimate Ear SupreFi before, not much diff compared to my Sennheiser CX300II on my daily songs... true. i did owned both CX300II and UltimateEars as well (give CX300II to my bro as present). yet, i still love UltimateEars due to its physical and Foam earbud |
