no auto cleaning as I don't think i will use it as it will consume extra electricity.  the good rule of thumb is to maintain the oven properly - clean after every use.

If to remove smell..i think can always leave bicarbonate soda (in a bottle) and just leave it in the oven to remove the smell..just like how i did for my fridge.  works wonders.

Hi jojo...you can just leave the bottle of bicarbonate soda (opened) and leave it in the oven/fridge.

Another way I found from the internet..(which i'm gonna try later tonight) is to fill the pan with water and slices of lemon and heat the oven up..the smell of the lemon should eliminate the smell.

Vinegar will work too, pour into a bowl, mix some water and it will absorb most of the smell. Vinegar is know to absorb odor don't expect miracle it won't happen in 2 min, take time like hours, depend how wide the surface area and how the air circulation. May want to put few pot / bowl of pure vinegar if you faster result.

Baking soda is also one miracle, it can instantly remove baby milky vomit smell or any vomit smell. Use in powder form or mix with water pour to affected area, and the smell are all gone.

I hv so far no complain abt the oven. Loving it. Just used it yesterday to toast a whole loaf of garlic bread.

I wonder what they say is not good?

Added on June 15, 2011, 1:15 amNot durable? Huh? Are they playing with the oven that it needs to be durable??

I believe that buying anything depends on luck too.

Yesterday, I was cleaning the Fotile Oven for the first time and some water seep into the double glazed window (refer picture). It left 2 lines of water mark in the window... sad.gif

I heated the oven for an hour (as part of cleaning process) but the mark persisted. Any recommendations to get rid of the water mark?

Ovens are designed so that air can circulate through the door, keeping the outside oven temperature cooler. All ovens have vents at the top of the door, when u r cleaning do not use overly wet rags or sponges because excess water or liquid can seep into the oven door and leave streaks in the glass.

In the mean time for other LYN members as well, you might wanna spend some time reading through this link shared by phythia79 which is very useful http://www.websiterepairguy.com/articles/h...clean_oven.html

Cornell...not too sure as I've not heard abt this brand for ovens when I was surveying.

Electrolux...it's a good brand for oven...I was contemplating btwn Electrolux and Fotile. I opted the latter due to budget but I have no regrets whatsoever.

No problem so for since bought from you 1/2 years ago. Quite heavy usage also.
All in all very satisfied.
Except for 1 small thing where the built in clock always running very slow. Any reason for it?
