I posted this so people will understand it's not easy to make the voice transmitter work in NITDroid.Just be patient I'm sure things will get better soon.

Too tell the truth I won't be surprised if Nokia employee monitoring NITDroid development. In case Nokia decides to make official Android phone they have work cut out by NITDroid team.

I'm rather surprised that none of you guys have yet to comment on the Nokia's Windows 7 Phone...
N900 will be my very last Nokia phone if Nokia proceed with that stupid stupid idea.
*
i might as well kill nokia for that stupid thing
Actually n900 was the phone that made me supported Nokia once again
I always hated symbian..
Just so laggy.. especially when u view 100 over photos..
If they were to continue on with windows 7... might as well quit the phone industry..
and did anyone hear the news on Nokia employees went on strike and started throwing prototype phones?
DAMN.. i wish i was there

ok, i managed to get boot to 0.0.9 now. i resolve the prob kernel panic by remove "fat" "vfat" from "ITEM_MODULES" since im installed on emmc.

i followed the emmc tutorial from popov then just untar to popov installation as guided by jakiman in TMO
sauce

here's what i can say for 0.0.9 now.
-sms & call still x working. 3G internet havent test yet
-wifi work as usual
-number in vkey still x working
-charging working
-USB host seems working now. I can see it mount MyDocs on my computer + it also charge the phone biggrin.gif
-App Market works
-others may be same as popov. Another thing I see is, the system responds well with stock clock. I'll try with higher clock later. laugh.gif

since I install the nitdroid, it looks like I lost my power kernel. It shuts my phone if I boot to power-kernel46. rclxub.gif
*
Hmmm.. so the working phone rumored in 0.0.9 is not really up to expectation
And i thought sms is working in the previous version?

nitdroid scene getting better day by day brows.gif

yup if you consider to use nitdroid for sms & calling. BTW, e-yes released a bugfix for v-key number. Like I said, nitdroid is getting better & better rclxms.gif
link

As for browser crash when loading google homepage, just change to other site i.e www.yahoo.com in settings. There's a bug in Google customised site.

Nice biggrin.gif
maybe i will just wait for full functional sms and calling.
then only i can proceed with my work

To anyone that wants to change the NOKIA image before the bootscreen.
There is no solution to it yet.
Cause from what i know it is handled by the bootloader.
Bootloader gone means bricked n900

here's the screenshot of my internal partition...

[attachmentid=1966433]

resized MyDocs (Primary Partition) to 8GB, home(Primary) to 2GB, 1 extended partition with 3 extra logical partitions(4GB each) inside and 1 with 5GB..

Plus 16GB of microSD..  =)

i'm not quite sure about liveCD though.......if u can savely remove drive using the Gparted LiveCD, then i think it should be ok...detecting the drives is one thing, unmounting them is another..so, if the GParted liveCD can do both, i think ur good to go..

but i'd still recommend u to have linux machine though.. (ubuntu, linuxmint, fedora, archlinux etc...) it's easier..lol..

i haven't install anything yet..i've just partitioned my phone yesterday...i'm quite bz atm.. sorry yea..what do you mean by "speed difference"?there's no difference in speed actually..unless you are talking about installing OSes(nitdroid/ubuntu/meego) in "memory card vs. internal memory", then yes..there are differences in speed if u install those in internal memory
actually, in linux machine (ubuntu for instance) mounting them is very easy, right click, then "unmount".. thats all..
you are right..virtual mode isn't convenient at all..i myself installed ubuntu alongside windows xp (yeah2 i still use xp cause i love its simplicity..hehe)..so i can dual boot them anytime i want...

i have yet to try installing OSes in those partition..but i'll let you guys try it..atm i'll be away as i have some errands to do..

Added on December 30, 2010, 6:05 pmAllright..here goes the tutorial..

REPARTITIONING THE EMMC INTERNAL MEMORY WITHOUT LOSING ANY DATA

PLEASE BACKUP YOUR PHONE FIRST IN CASE SOMETHING WENT WRONG...I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA. BE MIND THAT WHAT YOU DO HAS RISKS AND YOU DO IT WITH YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY.

NOTE THAT I HAVE PARTITIONED MY PHONE, BUT I HAVEN'T INSTALL ANY OSes (nitdroid, meego, ubuntu etc2.) AS I DON'T HAVE MUCH FREE TIME AT THE MOMENT.

CLICK ON THE SPOILER BELOW IF YOU ARE READY TO PARTITION YOUR N900

some notes before proceeding :
- you need a linux machine with GParted installed (if you don't have it installed, type sudo apt-get install GParted)
- battery more than 50%
- make sure MyDocs is not too full (for instance, if you want to resize MyDocs from 27GB to 10GB, make sure you have less than 10GB of data)
- and of course, your USB CABLE.. =P

Oh ok... i mean speed difference in anything on boot speed or application launch speed.
from what i know my old windows xp which has 2 partitions.
i installed my games on D drive. and it runs slower compared to installed on C drive.
So thats what i meant about speed difference
