This GPS issue has been going on for a lot of us G5 users. Really cant understand why though.
I'm no sifu at this but I've tried this before and it worked.

Try this. Are you using 'GPS Status' app? If yes, start it up, hit the menu key and you will see the 'Manage A-GPS state' option.
Hit reset and and do it again and this time hit 'Download'. Try it, it worked for my GF's G5. You need a connection for this tho, so I recommend using Wifi
unless you have a data connection.

Do this outside ya. Let me know your outcome and I really hope it works!

me too but funny thing is, I actually had this installed in my phone when I bought it but like you, I didn't feel the need for it. Only a few days back my GF tried to install it and it didn't work wierd but not bothered

Launcher Pro for works well for me

Not sure how to but if you don't like the menu style, then I suggest you play around with the different types of
apps that are available.

Im not sure how it was installed as I bought my phone used (1 month old) so as I was going through the apps I saw it in there. As I don't need it I decided to remove it.
Just recently as mentioned, I tried to re=install from Market as well as from our G5 server. It wont install. Message comes out about cant parse or something like that. Even my GF's phone can't install

Ya, a couple of days back the whole App folder was removed but then someone restored it back. There are files always being deleted.
Need to find a way to set it to read only. Sadly I don't think there is that option

Thx 4 d google maps 5.0 sgpc. I tried the compass mode, simply awesome. Too bad not available here as it requires street view maps

Just go to any map that has street veiw (US is the best), I tried to view Los Angeles, zoom down then press and hold on any point in the map till you get 'Loading Address'
Then just click on the address and you will see the Street view option. Click that and you will be in street view. In menu, start compass mode and enjoy

Not a pro myself but did you put the apk in the root directory? Meaning once you open your card just place it in there and not in other folder? Try that.

One way is you could try any app that requires a rooted phone.

Hmm, you need to get app planet first to download one app i'm using that is CacheMate the requires a rooted phone.
Advanced Task Killer (free on Android Market) will kill apps running in the background that you not using. That will not only enhance your performance but most
importantly battery life.

My recommendation is get a DropBox account and download the app for your phone, then PM SGPC with the email you used to get access to our G5 DropBox. Loads of apps there for free to use

Not sure about ShootMe as I have not used it before
