just sometimes when the market is sizzling hot (about 3-4 weeks ago when volume was between 1.5-1.7 bil ) then i get itchy and do daytrading. but just one off thing la, now liquidate most of my speculative position liao since the index is peakish and focus on good valued /growth counters like a sensible investor

There are many strategy can be adopted.

Like if you set the TP at 5.00, you don't sell when it reach 5, but make a profit locking level at 4.90. Aka you only sell if it breach 4.90 (after reaching 5.00), to protect your profit.
If keep on continue go up to 5.30, revise up your locking at 5.30 etc.

In this way, you don't straight away sell when it reach 5.00, as if the stock is on the uptrend, likelyhood, it won't stop at 5.00.
