QUOTE(aminpro @ Nov 12 2017, 11:11 AM) Congratulations! Now people are trying to port over to digital stuff like Yeasu Fusion and DMR. I guess you could skip everything and just jump over on UHF lol I only keep one Baofeng for VHF use. Could u explain more about fusion n DMR? Are we saying that analogue will be obsolute?

QUOTE(wiraone @ Nov 20 2017, 12:58 PM) You don't ground the antenna, you may want to ground the antenna mast but, lightning loves the fastest way to reach the ground and your mast probably will attract lightning more than before Get a lightning arrester if you want to protect your equipment. I grounded my mast and I've arrester inline with my feed line. The best protection is always disconnect your equipment when you're not using it. I've a gateway radio running 24x7, and I had hit by lightning before, not direct hit though on my radio but my HF set went kaput along with my TV, and astro decoder. My VHF set seems to be working fine till now, probably the static went into my HF set through power line instead of antenna feed line. Sorry i was referring the mast.Anyway any suggestion how to install the lighting arrester and ground the mast?It is on 2nd floor concrete house middle lot.No access to soft ground.
