For those sifus using Doc's ROM. Need your help here.
I'm currently running on Doc's ROM XXJPO 7.6.2. During flashing last time, I remembered I accidentily factory resetted after flashing, hence some apps were gone like Launcher Pro. I did that coz I read I shouldn't click backup and restore if I am coming from Eclair. If I want to reflash again XXJPO 7.6.2 again, can I just to to CWM and reapply the XXJPO 7.6.2 zip file? Or do I need to flash to another firmware like DXJG4 before applying doc's rom? If I can reflash using CWM, they will ask, Config differs, do you want to proceed with conversion, which option do I use? backup and restore? Thanks |

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Nov 26 2010, 12:01 AM) pda is the phone's kernel, there're custom ones like speedmod, YA-OK, bla bla bla(not a kernel) Thanks, i managed to reboot already. I already followed kalpik's step above but still black screen. I restored the cwm backup n managed to boot in..phewAdded on November 26, 2010, 12:02 am what's the default one? I switched to K9 without trying it Added on November 26, 2010, 12:04 am u didn't fix the corruption issue before flashing?? the steps below.. This is the correct way to flash: 1. Download K9 CWM file, put it in your sdcard, also put Doc's ROM. 2. Boot into recovery. 3. Flash the K9 kernel, DO NOT REBOOT. 4. Go to Advanced ULK options -> reboot into recovery. 5. Now choose mounts and storage -> Format system 6. Now flash Doc's ROM, and immediately after, flash K9 CWM zip AGAIN! (Without a reboot in between) 7. Select reboot after flashing K9 CWM zip. Now if you had a lagfix applied before, you will get a prompt about change in config. Just select "remove new config" here. 8. DO NOT FLASH any bugged kernel after this, or you will have to repeat this process. Do u still have Doc's rom and kernel in ur sd card?? |

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Nov 26 2010, 12:53 AM) Thanks, i managed to reboot already. I already followed kalpik's step above but still black screen. I restored the cwm backup n managed to boot in..phew Hi,Is there a way to check whether you have successfully rectify the RFS mounting system with the K9a Kernel? Yesterday, I tried flashing from Doc's Rom JPO 7.6.2 to JPO 8.0. This was what happen: 1) I reboot into CWM, undo lagfix. 2) Then in CWM, I did a factory reset and wipe cache. (This could be a mistake) 3) Then I reboot the system. 4) Problem, after the blinking S, the screen went black and start to vibrate intermittently. 5) Panic! Log in to Lowyat Forum and post for help. 6) No response, so I press the 3 button combo to boot back into CWM recovery. 7) I apply the K9a Kernel (following Kalpik's detailed steps to fix the RFS mounting corruption), including flashing the Doc's Rom XXJPO v8.0. 8) Then click reboot system.... 9) Again, after blinking S, screen went blank and vibrate every now and then.... 10) PANIC big time..... 11) Try to press the 3 button recovery and boot back into CWM recovery. Saw the backup and restore option. Decided to restore the latest backup. 12) Now managed to boot in. Check Phone status...stated running on Doc's Froyo JPO v8. the kernel is K9a 256Hz. So, is this consider a successful install? Although I did factory reset in step 2, how come all my data still intact? ie my contacts, calendar, APN everything is still there! Will my step 11 bring back the RFS mounting corruption problem? Thanks for any advice.... |

QUOTE(sengasdf @ Nov 26 2010, 09:30 AM) Yes, there is.I have the same bug on Doc's Froyo JPO v8. I use Titanium Backup to delete the Gallery 3D app. Then got problem installing Gallery 3D from market. Then I use root explorer to search for a file with name "Gallery"....found one file, and I deleted it. Then reboot phone. Went to Market again, and now can download the Gallery 3D. Tried it and sensor bug gone for good! Btw, do you guys know that this Gallery 3D is quite cool. At the album page, you try to put two fingers on a photo album and while pressing down, spread your 2 fingers apart...you will see the all the internal photos flying from 1 finger to the other finger....try it ( I guess many of you know this already)....maybe show your iP4 friend |
