QUOTE(lch78 @ Nov 23 2010, 10:20 PM) No idea, I just flashed it.My titanium backup isn't working now though, says I lost root access. But.. I still have root access because other apps requiring it works. Wonder why. Solved it, I used the new kernel to apply root again. And it works now. Maybe it's busybox problem. Btw lch78, I use JPA kernel and flashed CF stuff also. But I think if you use the ULK lagfix also can, inside has 2e recovery all that. This post has been edited by MYstombox: Nov 23 2010, 10:28 PM |

Please list your current firmware version And what else have you done. Do you have 3 button recovery mode enabled? Test by switching off your phone and holding these 3 buttons vol up + home + on |

QUOTE(lch78 @ Nov 23 2010, 10:39 PM) Ok. Thanks. Yes universal lagfix, I got it from xda forums.I actually trying to restore 2e recovery to install unsigned update.zip file. Easier for me this way. ULK lagfix? First time I heard of this. Is it Universal Lagfix? (this is what google results return) Downloaded and used version 3.0, it has everything included. Recovery into 2e, root, etc. All inside this kernel. Flashing too like 7 seconds and apply lagfix was about 3 minutes. Re-root was another 30 seconds. Very good stuff. If I've downloaded this earlier, I wouldn't have downloaded CF's kernel. |

You cannot root, I think your recovery is still 3e.
The root in OCLF only for 2e recovery. You need to downgrade the recovery first, or flash a custom kernel Go and download ULK from xda forums and flash that as ur kernel. You can root using that. |

Don't laugh at him la, this mistake isn't as obvious as it is. Because if I didn't know what 2e is, I wouldn't know it's a recovery version.
del85, yes, because 3e recovery doesn't allow using unsigned update.zip Please downgrade or change to cusom kernel. This post has been edited by MYstombox: Nov 23 2010, 10:49 PM |

Please read this tread, after reading, read again one more time.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814228 Just the first 3 post. Then ask questions here regarding how to flash it. You need ODIN v1.3 so download ODIN first. |

I used ULK, it has rooting and everything else inside the kernel.
Easy to use and very straightforward. |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Nov 27 2010, 01:41 AM) Thanks, at least this is 1 way. I actually don't know, first time I had roaming with this phone. But if upgrade back to DXJPA, would recovery mode be replaced back to 3e later? At least I was on 2e when I was on Eclair (DXJG4). Added on November 27, 2010, 1:42 am Would roaming consumes more power than at homeland? But i don't see why it would consume more. |

Don't bother using KIES to update, it has given me more problems than using ODIN. Not to mention its damn slow as well.
