3months ago, i went to overseas for training for 1months. Before i go, nobody say anything about bond.

Now after 3months, they gimme the bond contract ask me to sign to be bond for 1 yr. Is unfair to me since they din told me..

what can i do? pls help..

That is pretty dodgy. You can choose to not sign it if you would never had intended to go overseas if known that there was a
Bond attached. Bond will only be enforced after the training and not before. So if you were to leave, it would not be feasible for
The co to ask you to pay a penalty. Then again, if it's the norm in the industry, then you are assumed to know.

They nvr told me going for 1month need to bond..

they just told me if i go 1yr i will need to bond 2yrs..

something happen in the co i think.. i dun mind leaving.. but is it ok?

i will not sign anything.. Imagine some company send you go overseas then come back giv u a contact to sign without telling you earlier.. it is so unfair..

I will be the first guy to be offer bond 3months after training.. my company all the time let the employee sign bond contract even before they see the ticket..

Don't sign. Simple as that. As long as you don't sign, there is no bond.

You are right that the company should have given you the option to sign (or not sign) before the training, not after.

Just flatly refuse to sign. If they do try making life difficult then it's a warning sign of what kind of company this is, no?

actually before going overseas, you should asked first got bond or not...try look again inside your offer letter...mine got put inside offer letter..

there is a training bond clause in my offer letter. but it is written,

the employee shall be bonded by the Company Sponsorship Agreement prior to training being carried out as per company policy.

but my case is already after 2months..

sign only if you are willing and prepared for it.
if you think you can't, the only way is to just find another job then.

if want stay then sign, else look for job.

company will not kept u if u dont sign since it look bad faith from your side even though the hr make mistake.

If you do not wish to sign the bond then try and talk your way out of it. If that fail and you still they have nit been fair quit.

What's wrong with bond. At least you have secure ur job for another year and dont have to worry of being jobless.

Sometimes it's not about not wanting to stay but it's more of being secure without any R&R that might restrict you. As for me, if I am comfortable with everything in a company, then I would not mind being bond but if I have got no idea at all about a place, obviously it's a very big risk to take.

Then before signing the letter TS have take in account all the pro and con of signing the bond with his current comp. If there's more pro then con in the company and he felt comfortable with the comp. then go ahead and sign the letter.

But now IMO the issue is that TS is not happy coz he think he didnt been informed that he will be bond if went to the training.
I think TS need to read his employment contract and see if there's any term about training and bond.

Last result TS can just leave coz he haven't sign anything yet right?

wrong. bond is one-sided i.e. you're not allowed to resign for the duration of the bond without paying some sort of monetary penalty, but the company's ability to get rid of you (whether through downsizing or managed exit or whatever) is no different from non-bonded employees.

if i resign.. wat can they do? can they demand compensation legally?

my appointment letter says that,

The company reserve the right to send its employee for training. At such, the employee shall be bonded shall be bonded by the Company Sponsorship Agreement prior to training being carried out as per company policy.

I havent sign any bond agreement.. the 1month training is 2months ago already..

Many ppl out there will be cheated if this is not cleared.. what if they send u to training and come back and ask u sign bond that u havent agree before going....

where/can i seek legal advice?
