Ok, Bro, since you are so determine, suggest you go to Tesco HQ @ No 8, Jalan PJU 7/4, Mutiara Damansara, 47800 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The HQ lift entrance is near the Petronas and Proton Edar side at the car park.
Talk to the appropriate buyer and see how much your investment is going to be?
Be prepare to show & tell why should they rent shelf space to your product? What's the USP?
Also be prepare for them to bring in the product themselves!
Good luck.

Make sure you have plenty of cash to roll otherwise these hypermarts are going to kill you. Some of them are famous for holding your payment. Carrefour have been holding my friend's RM45K for months and the amount keeps on multiplying. When chased for payment, he managed to get a small % of it. And Giant is also not known to be a good pay master. My friend supplies cookies to them and gets squeezed when come to payment. Some of the suppliers came as far as Penang and after queuing for half a day, they were told their cheques were not ready.

When come to promotion, the suppliers are forced to contribute if they decide to promote your products. They practically don't have to come up with a single cents. The suppliers have to pay for everything; ad, flyers and etc.

If you are not a big player, you can't survive doing biz with them.

vengance...this sweet taste weird...only 1 supermarket is selling this in penang. but not full range. i have surveyed all over penang island. anything that is popular...manufacturer will come themselves like cadbury...=)...there is always market for everything...just big or small..

darknite..i have been to tesco HQ@the curve, parkson HQ@klang parade, giant HQ@shah alam stadium, carrefour HQ@subang parade...that is why i started this thread as consignment to supermarket...or else i would just sell to supermarket...i know all their payment terms well...that is y i asked if anyone here who has dealed with branches instead with HQ...like backdoor?

4rings...in case u missed my earlier post....i cant afford dealing with large quantities...renting a kiosk and hire a promoter also i cant afford....wat to say supply nationwide chains.

Added on November 24, 2010, 3:36 pmso this wat im planning to do...dealing with just 1 supermarket of my choice....i don mind consignment in small quantities...

So how much is the 'investment'?
If I'm in your shoes I will go for Jusco. So far to me their terms and payment are reasonable and prompt. Most of all, less corruptions.
As far as I know, Hypermarket Branch managers all have no power cos their point of sales computer is control by HQ. Their branch manager have no say as to wat new product can be put on the shelf or else all outlet will have many different stuff.
