try swap in another cable to cross check if it is the cable ... if it is still the same. Might be the HDD, try send it back for swap.

magnet can sucks information from hdd if im not mistaken. you might find part of your data gone wink.gif opening the case is okay, just make sure dont do anything with the hdd, there is no need to open it. Buying a new one is always better than repairing one.

I just found out that a dog's lick can kill your HDD -.-

While I was upgrading my cpu, I left my case opened and the HDD exposed. My dog stood beside me curiously looking at this strange machine, and decided to 'investigate' the strange being with her tongue. I found out just how wet the surface of my HDD is.

Conclusion : Dog Saliva = Bad for HDD

anyone knows how to repair HD? mine was working fine yesterday, but suddenly this morning cannot use already. My computer can detect the HD when i plugged in the USB, but dunno why the volume just don't come out on 'Computer'
