Hey guys, are there any differences in speaker cab? coz there's marshall cab going about RM2k-4k then there's bugera only RM1.2k. both 4x12 both celestion.. i think:hmm:
marshalls have different ranges of celestions, bugera is using its own brand speaker.Added on December 4, 2010, 1:54 am

Yes
Its like pickups lah
No matter how good pickups sound (in this case Celestion speakers), they sound different depending on the guitar you put them in, like the shape of the guitar, the size of the guitar, the wood of the guitar.. In this case, it would be slant/straight cab, front loading or rear loading, and material used to construct
And do you need a 4x12 for home use mate?
HAHAHAHA!
i use both microcube and 4x12 halfstack for home use. depends on whether i feeling particularly noisy or not.No matter how good pickups sound (in this case Celestion speakers), they sound different depending on the guitar you put them in, like the shape of the guitar, the size of the guitar, the wood of the guitar.. imo, using small amp/head 2~10W is not exactly a burn/blow problem (when u hook it to big cabs/speakers..)
the problem is the sound quality n volume..
Probably u'll use pedals/ distortion to boost the sound n this will make the small amp/head easier to burns.. especially solid-state or hybrid one..
If full tube, no prob i guess..
Let an expert here share their experience lah..
any amp can use with cab, if it has a speaker out. also please make sure the cab and speaker out impedance matches. otherwise something will burn/blow. come chat with me in person if you wanna know more.the problem is the sound quality n volume..

microcube cannot power a speaker well. i just tried. unless the speaker is like 2 ohms or something, cos i used 16 and 8 ohms also sounds damn soft. This post has been edited by jcyh: Dec 4 2010, 01:59 AM
