ok, actually i already order my new rig (part-by-part) as below and expected to be arrived by next week.

mobo : Asus Rampage III Extreme
proc : intel i7 950
ram : kingston HyperX 2000Mhz C9 (2G x 3) - 2 set = Total will be 12G
SSD : OCZ 60G Vertex 2 (for OS)
HDD : WD 500G
GC : 2 x Asus GTX460 Cu TOP (SLI)
PSU : CM 1000W gold series.
Casing : CM HAF 932

Cooler : ????


and i need to overclock this rig to 4.4g and above if possible. i still dunno if air colling can handle it or i need to go for watercooling??

FYI, my current rig is i7 920 4g / asus rampage II extreme / kingston ram 6g (value ram ) / HDD sata 500g / Asus GTX285 TOP / CM 800W / and using air cooling NOCTUA U12. temp is 39 idle /79 full load.

so can anyone advice me which one is better? air or water? what the (rough) cost?.

please note, i have NO experience on water cooling. but i have read about it alot.

if possible, can anyone tell me the bios setting for (asus R3E / i7 950 / KHX2000 c9 / SSD OCZ vertex 2/ 2 SLI asus gtx460) to get 4.4g and above?

Not much an air cooling can stand at 4.4ghz.prefer you to to go WC for best solution on fighting with the heat.my MegaH 4ghz can reach 80++(with HT on,if off reduce less than that) with 110cfm PnP fans.4.4ghz?hell no.

Can refer to this thread for 4.4ghz on R3E,since bro owikh84 already test his i7 920 on R3E.not much diff for i7 950 to reach same state.

4.0Ghz - 4.2Ghz enuf dy bro.. r3e wif 950 + 4.4Ghz will sucks more vCore unless u search for 920 golden batch....

wow ur setup almost similar with mine.

950 can go 4.4Ghz. juz depend on ur luck and ur 950 batch..n ur skill..n ur mobo.. n hahahaha.. so many 'n'..
