QUOTE(Racerx @ Aug 17 2011, 04:15 PM) OLED is a whole different type altogether,it's not a TN/IPS/VA anymore and it doesn't use a backlight as the OLED itself lights up.I definitely forgot that! That's why it's so thin, the pixels illuminate themselves Haha thanks for clarifying! QUOTE(WSL999 @ Aug 17 2011, 10:25 PM) OLED is already available in Japan. And it's very expensive:) Last I heard was USD10k for a 19" Oh wait... that was sometime ago

QUOTE(celciuz @ Aug 18 2011, 12:51 PM) Why is that? Design looks ok to me, simple and plain. So what type of monitor design do you like? no offence celciuz The new design for the U2412M and U2312H looks "cheapish" to me. In fact the older design with sharp edges looks better. Plus the buttons too!

QUOTE(WSL999 @ Aug 22 2011, 06:40 PM) You just did -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway, I read a few threads back about a discussion between CCFL vs LED backlight. Something about CCFL being "better" or more "stable" than LED backlight. Really can't quite remember the details. iirc forumer wildewestgoh was discussing about this

RGB backlight?
Anyway guys, probably the most IMPORTANT question for those wanting to get ANY Dell IPS monitors:
What if I get a dead pixel???
As you might already know, Dell's perfection to the last pixel policy doesn't allow a 1 to 1 exchange if there's one Dead Pixel. A bright one however warrantys an exchange.
So I guess it's back to the standard industry pixel policy of 5-6 dead pixels?
