Smart Reader Kids monthly fee is RM270.

The 1st time registration can cost almost RM2k. Sorry I don't remember the exact amount, what the payments are for etc.

After that, you have the option of paying the monthly fees either monthly, quarterly etc.

The SRJK ( C ) Chong Hwa (P) Jalan Damai off Jalan Ampang is starting their kindergarden next year. The building is now under construction and schedule to be up next year.

Sorry, I dont have pricing or direct contact info. You may call SRJK ( C ) Chong Hwa (P) at 03-21486453. They should be able to refer you to the right contact.

Sweeboon,

Can you share the review for Tadika Gembira? I'm surveying for my friend who prefers Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama, OUG or Sri Petaling.

I have checked out 2 kindergartens:

1. Power Kids @ Sri Petaling - using Fun Gates system
Open space learning as kids are trained to concentrate on their current class irregardless of external environment.

2. Beacon House or formerly Eduland @ Sri Petaling - International school
Montessori based and very academic following international standard. Some mothers complained that it's very commercial now.

Any further reviews on the above kindy? Thanks.

Shall share my search for my 3 years old (may not be the same for other age range, +/-), 2013 pricelist

1. Beaconhouse Bangsar - Son says YES!
Price roughly around 1200 fullday, 750 for Halfday (includes everything)
I feel that this school is very clean and well maintained, very organized, student/classroom size ratio is good and spacious and security is ok. Headmistress and Teachers are ok and quite friendly. Doesnt include toilet training for my kid. Feeds normal food like porridge, noddles, beehoon etc. However it is next to those power house/cable (cant remember which one)
The daycare closes 3-4 times a year following school holidays for a week (if i didnt misunderstand her) !! Hard for working parents.

2. Sri Bangsar - Son says YES!
Price roughly around 1100 fullday, 1000 for Halfday (includes everything)
I feel that this school is clean but kind of rundown, student/classroom size ratio is packed and limited but security is good. Teachers kind of avoided me @@ but the headmistress is very good and friendly. Includes toilet training for my kid. Feeds better food like fish or chicken porridge, noddles, beehoon, cereals etc.
The daycare closes a week during major public holidays like after xmas, cny, raya, deepavali (if i didnt misunderstand her) !! Hard for working parents.

3. MRC Jinjang (near Brem Mall) --Son says NO!
Price roughly around 650 fullday, 300++ for Halfday (includes everything)
I feel that this school is clean but toilet one kind of smell, student/classroom size ratio is okok and security is not sure as they dont lock the gates @@ and got no security guards. Teachers and headmaster so so. Includes toilet training for my kid. Feeds normal food like porridge, noddles, beehoon etc. The daycare closes only during public holidays and the longest will be CNY.
This place is quite academic ....study most of the time and the materials look boring.

4. Qdees Jalan Kuching--Son says YES!
Price roughly around 700 fullday, 300++ for Halfday (includes everything)
I feel that this school is clean but rundown, student/classroom size ratio is packed and limited and security is ok. Teachers are friendly and headmaster is terrific (i like her). Includes toilet training for my kid. Feeds normal food like porridge, noddles, beehoon etc. The daycare closes only during public holidays and the longest will be CNY.
This place is quite academic but the materials look interesting.

5. Qdees Hartamas--Son says YES!
Price roughly around 800 fullday, 400++ for Halfday (includes everything)
I feel that this school is clean and new, student/classroom size ratio is good and spacious and security is ok. Teachers look capable and friendly & headmistress is a nice lady (though she looks like rich tai tai to me too hehe) . Includes toilet training for my kid. Feeds normal food like porridge, noddles, beehoon etc. The daycare closes only during public holidays and the longest will be CNY.
This place is quite academic but the materials look interesting. However the lessons are lesser than the one in Jalan Kuching and without swimming and mandarin classes for 3 years old(infact got no swimming lessons as got no swimming pool). The daycare also got no activities other than sleep n watch tv compare to Jln Kuching which have more stuffs to do. Only provide lunch, breakfast n teatime have to pack own (compare to all the others who provide 3 meals for fullday)

Conclusion i am happy with qdees hartamas because i put cleaniness, environment and teachers priority. The teachers do look very capable compared to the rest.
Besides that also because of toilet training haha.....sigh this mother is useless...else I would have chosen Beaconhouse because its next to my workplace.

BTW i also called Noah's Ark Kindergarden Bangsar. Hmmm the person who picked up the phone is very LCLY @@
she said we r fulled. Are you recommended by someone? I said no, nmind then. She just put down the phone @@ mad.gif

Not sure if this kind of list is helpful, but hope it benefits in some way.

If not, suggestions and requests are welcome, thanks.

Hi Jenniezs,

I found a few near this area. Have not check it out at D Excel yet, do you know how much is the school fee there and any review?
Have found a few like 3Q MRC (feel that too academic), other kindies at the taman taman (the surrounding really not so good, hence we forgo to consider it). Last 2 options left are Tadika Duniawi Si Montel (Genius Kids) and Smart Reader Kids.

Any review on Smart Reader Kids? It's like most of the kindie fees have increased... (sweat) sad.gif

Hi Blet

my colleague send her child to D-Excel, heard it is not bad but expensive. If no mistaken it is RM400+/mth for half day which excluded extra class.

Which kindies you been to at the taman taman? My daughter is at Tadika Sri Mentari Ria which located at Tasik Prima (Lake Vista). I found out the kindie not bad, got swiming pool with swiming class. My daughter like to go to the school too.

Which Smart Reader Kids you visit? I been to the Putra Prima branch, it is located at the shop lot there so end up I didn't enter and ask for more information.

Bout the school fees I feel that mostly it is almost the same, it may be different bit only.

Hi Vivien,

I have actually changed my mind at the end. Now my daughter is in Tadika Lai Meng, in Bukit Jalil. And it's not bad, I must say. The whole system works very much like Elementary school system. Although more academic results are emphasized than curriculum results, the school is easy to access, teachers are okay, my kid loves it there. So no complaint.

*
You are so lucky... I called the Tadika Lai Meng around September and they said next year 4 yrs old class is fully enrolled.... No even for me to put in waiting list. Maybe will try to enrol again next year for 5 years old class. Do you mind to PM me the monthly charges and miscellaneous cost?

Hi, Why is the Q-dees fees in Jalan Kuching and Hartamas different? The fees, does it includes uniform, books, concert, etc? Can you break the fees down? I'm looking around too.

Thanks!

Thanks.

If you have money to waste, why not? After all, you can boast around to others that your children study in MRC and Smart Reader.
At leaset your children can read out A-Z, but when you point to H, they will ask what is this whistling.gif

Its pretty clear in early mornings.

Not sure now, but 1 year ago the place was clean and good preparation for start at SJK and SKC. This, since I only send my child to kindergarten at 5yrs.

Good mix of all races. Muslims who are not too fussy about meals, its a good place to go.

I am not a fan of too much schooling.

don't go to realkidz branches, they're bunch of rip off, we sent our kids to the one in wangsa melawati, and she had a horrible time there, teachers have no warmth totally ignores kids that are crying, witnessed some of the children actually walk out of the classroom without the teachers noticing, completely unsafe, we only sent our kid for 1 mth and asked for refund when i paid rm2.2k they only want to refund rm300. they even took in advance fees from us.

the school doesn't really have good hygiene practice as well, toilets dirty, etc.

And the education system is all over the place without any proper structure, when i asked what were theyre plans to teach they couldnt really explain properly and the books werent even ready during orientation week.

i've since moved my kid to gcc and it's been really really good.

+1 to Tadika Sri Soka. My son and daughter is studying there too at the moment and they are enjoying it. They emphasize more on character building rather than academic. If you want your kids to only focus on the good grades, then I'll suggest you look elsewhere... biggrin.gif

Hi All,

Im in the midst of surveying a good preschool / nursery for my soon-to be 3 year's old son next year 2017. Does anyone of you have any recommendation or good review for kindergarten which is located either at PJ, SS3 or Kepong, Taman Daya / Taman Ehsan?
My main concern of the kindergarten as below:-
1) Friendliness of teachers and principal
2) Teaching Methodology - i prefer a more open concept instead of those conventional type of teaching method. So far, i only know either Montessori of Fungates method that provides such open teaching concept.
3) Hygienic, good environment and children friendly on its surroundings and facilities.
4) Programs available.
5) Fees - this is the last concern. I would prioritized my concern for the 1st four above first.

To all papa mamas, please help to suggest or recommend some good ones, as im still cracking my head on which kindy to select best eventhough i have did some surveys. =(

Additional question: Is real kids@kampung tunku, smart readers@SS3 & Q-dees@SS3 good and recommended?

Thanks in advance to all of you.

is definitely higher than average. but have to see the quality of the teacher whether it justify what u are paying or not.
I also paying for half day montessori based, although I can see is not following the exact montessori teaching.

RM100 registration
RM300 material per annum
RM530 monthly (half day)
RM30 insurance
no uniform

What is your RM2400 for misc? That seems really ex for something categorize as misc

my personal opinion is that real kids, smart readers and Q-dees are more like money making machine. Depends on the branch you went to, some I see that the tachers ain't that passionate in what they do. they just seems to rush through their materials and lack of character building for the child.

agree with this....

dun because of peer pressure and those silly reason.

most important is at the higher education and not now.

those who think kindergarten already so important, they should send the child school when just born already,

although I know the more we pay, doesn't necessary guarantee better quality, but let's not be too cheapskate on childcare, especially for young kids. For a 2 years old who hardly knows how to talk, you might not want to send them to places where they will get mistreated and don't even know how to complaint to parents. Preschooler are totally naive and resemble a blank piece of paper, I would ensure that the teacher we choose are of good quality and not just some bored auntie with not qualification. Bottom line is, pay for what you can afford.

Hi, is there any parents here sending kids to Peter & Jane (Taman SEA branch)? Any feedback/ comments ? I have visited the branch and I think the environment, teaching methodologies, and teachers qualiy are there.
However the fees is extremely high. Therefore I hope could get some ideas/ experience sharing before making any decision.

Hi, how much is the fees in Peter & Jane? Peter and Jane usually topped the parent's choice in kindergarten. Read a lot about P&J. All they say is expensive but no one specify atleast estimated amount.

The children house is awesome however is it really really pricey..
Last year the price quoted to me was:

Option 1:
RM950 a months for 2 times a week + reg. fee RM500 + RM1000 one time fee
Have to pay full for a term RM3800

Option 2:
RM1350 for 3 times a week plus other additional fees same as above

Option 3:
RM1600 for 5 times a week

The price quoted for full day school + day care

My mom inlaw used to be a teacher at Children House in Ampang Hilir area.. 80% of the students that enroll is usually expat's.. cuz they can afford.. but not too long ago, there's a new montessory open right beside US embassy, Tree Top, and they offer higher salary for teachers.. so 60% of children hse teacher took dat offer, and now children hse lost abit of biz.. i think they went for discounts price now since tree top opened..

Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience with The Montessori Place, Bukit Jalil for 2 year old toddler?

Also, does anyone know of any mummies playgroup around Bukit Jalil, OUG, Taman Desa, Kuchai Lama area? This is like an informal playgroup of mummies/daddies with their toddlers who attend the playgroup more for the toddlers to learn/play and socialise with other toddlers?

Many thanks.

Hi there,

Any recommendations for preschool around OUG, Bukit Jalil, Happy Garden or Sri Petaling areas for a 2 year old toddler? Prefer to have a bit more focus on Mandarin plus Montessori based system.

Is Montessori system good? Some ppl say good for kids to learn whilst playing, some ppl think that it is a waste of time and better to start in a Mandarin based preschool (if it is the intention to send to Chinese primary school eventually). My family speaks more English, so want my son to learn more Mandarin and develop the interest in the language. Any tips/recommendations?

I am also looking for informal playgroup for my son to play and interact with other kids around his age.

Hi, I would suggest you check out Montessori Daffodils at Sri Damansara. Its located at housing area, but the security to the entrance is tight. They don't have high volume of students, its about 40 of them for 3yr - 6yr. The principle very into Montessori and she teaches the class also. They have robotic class part of their teaching program engaged outsider.

Hi All,

I am looking for an affordable preschool (for my 4 years old son next year) near to Mont Kiara/Sri Hartamas/TTDI area which emphasize in English. I did a quick search on Google and found the following which might meet my requirement (due to the cost and English Language as a based):-
1. Sparkles (Sri Hartamas or TTDI)
2. QDees (Sri Hartamas or TTDI)
3. Krisaliz (TTDI)
4. Tadika Diyana (TTDI)
5. Little Inventor (SS2 or TTDI)

Any review on the above would be much appreciated!

Comments about Golden Montessory (Taman Yarl)

Summary :
Environment > Great, big, spacious, that is why I sent my son there. Now that I realized the owner's unique behavior, not sure about it now. If really wanted to enroll, go have a look and pray you won't get treated badly if by any chance you're going to switch out in future.
Teachers > Great, professional, really put their hearts into teaching but not sure if it still applicable - Many left ,turn over rate super high. One of the reason as to why I switch out my son. Mostly all of the teachers I know left, resigned or discontinue contract.
Owner > Initially feel normal, smiling face, until I 'kena', then, now I'll rate him as 0 star, jokers and likes to accuse people once he targeted you.
I, as parent he also can simply accuse, scold(without reason, once knew he had mistaken, did not even call to apology, asked principal to apology notworthy.gif )
I wouldn't dare to imagine how he will treated teachers [he keeps on remind me, I'm paying for the teacher, I hired the teachers, shouldn't you give credits to me by giving me 5 star?]
He thought he's paying the teacher and he's so high and mighty.

Story(If you have time and interested what I've gone through)

Been sending my son into this school for 2 years. Final year sending to another school.
When my son is there that period, great school, great environment, great teachers. Saw a lot of bad comments regarding the owner from google review, did not really looked into that previously.
Until I myself get accused, scolded by the owner(Mr Jaga just fyi) sweat.gif
Things started change after I plan to change my son to another school [A LOT great teachers leaving thus me and my wife made decision to change school - plus going to chinese school and would like to get into more academic school]

Just a very simple thing, would like to collect the books (which we paid for the books first terms) before heading back to hometown. After some time trying to get it which he don't want to give at that same day, then made a decision to get it next week [agreed together on getting the books a week later]
Then, Mr Jaga started to accused that I 'pakat' with one of the teacher who left, together giving bad review.
I couldn't understand how he takes it as 3 star (I rated in google review) as a bad review. As far as I know, 3 star mean 'Average'. icon_question.gif

Keep asking why we couldn't give better rate, next once I did not tell him whether I will change to better rate or not, he started accusation 'pakat' with one of the teacher which really bring up my son's on reading chinese [I'm banana by the way, thus I'm more worried on chinese since I can't guide my son afterwards]

Since couldn't get the books, thus I went back hometown. The next day, received a called, this time, an 'Angry' Mr Jaga appeard. Start shouting at me "Why I told you come and get the book next week, and you GET IT YESTERDAY from one of my teacher!"
Gosh.. then telling me "You Bastard" doh.gif
Telling him, ok fine, you have a lot of CCTV right, show it to me, see if my face appear that day or not on collecting the books.
He then say he'll confirm again with the teacher then get back to me

After 10 minutes, get a called from school again, this time Principal called me and apologize. Its another student's parent which went and collect some books.
Come on.. we teaches our kids, if did wrong, apologize. He's not young anymore, adult some more, at least, make his face thicker a bit, call and apologize himself la, why ask principal to apologize to me after calling me bastard, scolded me, accused me on collecting the books doh.gif

The next week, the week which I supposed to collect the books.
Called in and pray that Jaga doesn't answer the call, luck is not with me, he answered.
Funny guys, he told me "Last week principal called you and apologize on behalf of the school"
I replied 3 times "On behalf of YOU"
He then finally answer "Yes on behalf of me" doh.gif
I did not hear he say "Sorry Mr XXXX", which actually I don't expect it from him thou, I did not ask for the apology biggrin.gif
Then started again, accuse me with that same teacher, say why did I message in 'Illumine(the apps which we use to talk to teacher regarding homeworks etc)'
What I type in the Illumine chat is about when can I collect the books, if possible I would prefer teachers giving me the books and not Jaga, reduce conflict, worried argument starts..
(Brother.. i just need the books which I paid - If you don't want to give me, just write in illumine and then I just need to screenshot and see where I can report)

I'll update the post once I receive the books(Or I did not receive the books). Supposed is this week to receive the books.
After that only I'll update the google rating change to 1 star and with all these comments

Update on the collection day, today, 2March2022
Ring the bell, teachers open the gate, I went in, teacher told me nicely sit there and wait.
*Angry Mr Jaga* appeared, as well as principal. I greeted, 'How are you' with some fake smile(I'm on mask, thus he can't see my fake smile)
He replied 'I'm not happy', I responeded "me too devil.gif "
Some argument again (my gosh.. here we go again..) Next he says "Why are you came in my property, you're trespassing MY property" (Here he goes again.. the accusation..)
I told him, teacher open the door to me one ah, I did not ask to go in also, initial plan was I'm outside, get the book, bid farewell, then go back write up google review (I'm too naive.. to have such happy ending thoughts)
Told him to check the cctv to see if I jump in myself to his property or what that he accused me. (He says wanted to call the police for that sad.gif )
He started recording video, which actually good, cause I didn't think of video, so I record as well. Walked out of course, else he had the reason "It is my property!!"
Outside, asked me to leave, (which initially really as simple as, I wanted to shift out my son, I just wanted to get back the books that I paid) but of course I haven't get the books thus I remain there.
Started arguments (Uploaded the video, I raised my voice, so if its too noisy, please stop watching)
Due to I'm recording video and I'm asking if I can't have the books which I paid, he smart too, he knew the recording thus he did not want to tell me I can't have the book [which he told me I can't have it when I'm inside his property], thus AT LAST, FINALLY, he told me I can have my books back.
I remind him again that he's calling me BASTARD in the video, and he told me he did not doh.gif Dare to scold(afterwards he realized its not me who went and take the books) Dare to admit la..

so far, my experience sending my kid to school, not so good.
the covid is really changing the experience.

no more socializing like before.
eat, play at their own table only.

no more gym or swimming.

the fun factor is not there.

so if u think its still too early to send ur kid (5 years old and below) then maybe can opt for home schooling for now.
