Because older games are more optimised for Dual cores that's why during gaming the 3rd and 4th cores in Quad is useless because it wouldn't really use much of it... And for single core clock A42Ja is only around 1.7Ghz while Dual core clocks are mostly 2.2Ghz and above..

You already pinpont the location, what prevent you from putting it there? The vent is from CPU and GPU HSF while the bottom left is the harddrive.

My friend is using an acer 4783G . Is that laptop more optimized for loading that game?

@shark i7 is only 1.7ghz per core.The only reason i got the a42ja was for the hd5730.

I put it on the HDD because its roasting hot. The 2nd one you should put it on the vent on RAM slots if the space permits

my A42ja gets to 100 degrees while playing FIFA11.. and the fan turns at a very high speed when i ALT+TAB during the game..

idle is fine.. 40 to 50.. sometimes 60 too

Not a very related question but... well:

I was re-spraying my UL80VT plastic chassis since the silver paint started to torn off and scratch here & there. But I think I accidentally damaged the ribbon cable connecting to frontal LED and touchpad

Anyone selling such tiny ribbon cable? Though wonder if the technician in pc shop would have that, but don't wish to rush all the way into town blindly just for this tiny cable... me in Kuching btw.

I play BC2 @ med-high settings the most it goes is 80C. Maybe you put your laptop on a soft surface/blocking the vents. Or your components could be dusty.

Yup my idle is 50+. When the cooling fans on its about 40-50

U33Jc is older model, Bamboo series, rm1k is selling for the looks lol..

U35jc is even cheaper around rm27xx now..

I have updated the nvidia driver to the latest version.
yesterday i try to reinstall only the optimus driver, now it seems working. but need to check on more software first.

oh, yes. i need the hardware graphic acceleration because some of the movie seems not so smooth and i need to try the PowerDVD's 3D conversion.
