the goal should hv been allowed but cant be the goal of the year..looks typical to me..blunder of the season maybe....hehe
what happened to portugal when played against spain during the world cup? hmmmm
lol. butthurt. fan of spain ah?
blunder? how is that blunder? dont be so bitter lah. that is pure quality and skill. it is not necessarily be goal of the year or whatsoever. casillas, puyol and pique are no one meh?
credit given where it is due. btw, no one is highlighting that spain was tapau-ed by portugal. people are discussing about the goal.

relax man..im a fan of italy..hate spain totally...LOL
i meant the blunder by nani, not ronaldo..
the goal looked similar with messi when he scored against spain..but the difference are: 1) ronaldo's solo effort..messi got the ball... 2) gonzalo higuain looked brilliant enough not to head home the ball but nani??
that's what i meant.sorry if it sounded offensive to you..but it was just weird not to see ronaldo skinned the spanish like that in the world cup..perhaps he got more enthusiasm to win at his home ground, estadio da luz..peace bro peace =)
u cant blame nani totally coz from a football rule's point of view, he did nothing wrong. He's not offside is he? If linesman were to correctly allow it for onside, then its up to Ronaldo and Nani to settle it for themselves, whether Nani intentionally "steal" Ronaldo's goal, or simply wanna make sure 100% the ball is behind the net. So i dont get what's this "blunder" everyone's talking about.
but still, it was still 0-0..and nani shouldnt do that, eventhough he knew that he was onside actually, as he knew that the ball would definitely go into the back of the net and no spanish defenders gonna stop that goal..it was a crucial goal should the goal be allowed..
I rather say it's Cas blunder but no blunder such thing in this "goal".
Well, that's an onside goal but it could be hard for lines-man. CR did a lot of tricks plus I believe lineman never expect CR will chip the ball.
It's kind of normal reaction for footballer to head in the ball when you're infront of the goal right?Nothing to blame on Nani though. In most of the scenario, CR will cross, Nani's run obviously is to tap in.

well...for me I prefer goal of the year to be something volley from somewhere around the mid field like van bronckhorst..... or if its to be dribble...I prefer it can be dribble to at least 3 or more defenders...of course the more the merrier like how the japanese dude dribbled through the whole team of players..... its just like a swarm of bees chasing a running honey pot.
bout the blunders....i would said both pique's sliding and cassilas had a some mistakes on their part. GUess the group is playing for fun since its a friendly rite?

There's no best goal of the year.Only ONE OF THE best goal of the year. If you see the goal in a different opinion, the result will be absolutely different.
superb. u can see why he was frustrated after that. nani...probably heat of the moment thing . but man...it should've stood. its not every day players put one past the world champions in such an imperious manner.
Portugal Winger Nani Apologises To Cristiano Ronaldo For Offside Goal Against Spain Nani's unneccessary touch onto Ronaldo's goal-bound finish was ruled offside but the winger believes the 4-0 thumping of Spain shows Portugal's potential.
Manchester United and Portugal midfielder Nani has apologised to his former club-mate Cristiano Ronaldo for poaching what was about to be a superb solo goal in the 4-0 win against national rivals Spain, but in the end Nani's touch was ruled offside.
The winger though stated that plays like that one prove that Portugal can score big against the best teams in the world.
The Real Madrid forward sprinted, twisted and turned his way into the area before lifting a fantastic chip over the stranded Iker Casillas which, as it was about to drop over the line, Nani headed in from what was deemed to be an offside position by the officials.
"After the game I apologised to Cristiano, he played really well. I just didn't know I was in an offside position," Nani told AS.
However, the team were elated to have defeated World Cup winners Spain so convincingly.
"We have a beautiful and cohesive team, ready for causing other sides problems. With the players we have we are capable of scoring many goals and winning."

well..he said it..nice game btw..hope spain learnt a lesson there..
How can it be goal of the year when it wasn't given as a goal? The goal reminded me of Andy Cole's goal in the semis of the FA Cup against Chelski in 96. Cantona's header, clearly goalbound and Coley stuck a foot out to ensure the ball really went in. Goal went to Cole.
Nani did nothing wrong in my opinion. Players tend to try ensure that the ball goes into the net rather than chance it going out or hitting the post. Besides he was already in mid flight, and how was he suppose to pull out?? Ball would have brushed him anyways even had he pull out of heading.
Goal should have stood though with all the Pique issued discussed in all the previous posts.
and my suggestion is andrea pirlo's goal... have a look.. =)
holy crap! this is one super long shot, whats so unique about this shot is that the ball instantly went high, sky rocketing all the way into the net it did not dip for the keeper to reach it...it goes up and up and straight into the net stoppable! perhaps only yao ming could have stop that

its a goal, it is a good goal but definitely not a goal of the year quality....its just skillful dribble+ left loop volley. most of the dribbler can achieved this.
He doesn't have Arsenal dna.. automatically not beautiful huh? Against Spain, Cassilas in goal. Wenger style, truly. Blindfolded or just truly blind?
