I've read somewhere (I've forgotten where) that D7000 has the same ISO performance as D700, because they are using the same tech, no?  hmm.gif

According to KenRockwell.com, D7000 is the world's cleanest camera at ISO 25,600, see the comparison between Nikon D7000, Nikon D300, Nikon D3 and Canon 5D Mark II @ http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/comparison...3-iso/index.htm

waddaya think? D7k ftw!  biggrin.gif

Wait..... D7000 sensor made by Sony???? sob sob.... then the Sony Alpha A580 16.2 MP sensor same is D7000??
all AIS means manual focus.....
*

QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 26 2010, 12:13 PM)
What I understand the D7000 sensor is developed by Nikon, maybe Nikon modified the Sony sensors perhaps?
*

yup, the sensor (physically) is Sony's but the engineer at Nikon are the one responsible on tweaking it to get all the juice from the sensor to max the performance.. icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(fyqun @ Nov 26 2010, 12:27 PM)
guys i wanna know
is there any effect if we're using 3rd party lens or speedlite ?
*

u will look cool if u're using d40 but with Metz Mecablitz 54 AF-1 attached to it..
or u attach the Sigma 500mm in ur d90.. thumbup.gif
other effect depends on how u use the speedlight/lens..

Errm, then how come Sony didn't copy the tweaks to improve theirs tongue.gif. LOL! Cause their sensor seems sub par to Nikon's.

Just wondering, which equivalent from Sony is using D3/D700 and D3s sensor? Those seems like only Nikon has them.
*

the otai2 (old-timer) at Nikon knows how to tweak.. with years of experience mah.. the alpha850 sensor is equivalent to D3 sensor IINM..

flex.gif still need to practice more on the software rather than the hardware yah Sony.. but the a580 is definitely have MORE functions that are improved from a550.. so this is like Sony is relying on the buyer to upgrade because of the new more-advance features, ie the night scene mode (the one u press the shutter and it'll take 6 continuous shots and stitch it to make 1 sharp picture, very2 useful when in low light condition without the use of speedlight)

QUOTE(adriancs @ Nov 26 2010, 03:00 PM)
Sony also needs a lot of work on the lenses. Its the vast library of very good lenses that people stick to Canon and Nikon for.... yawn.gif ... not up to Canon and Nikon's game.

And you hit the nail right on the head here, they're selling mostly very consumer features like nightshot, panorama, etc... Stuff serious photographers will not bother considering since we know its just gimmicks...

The NEX is a different game though. I am tempted by it.
*
i still uses my Alpha350 because its attached to the Minolta 50mm f1.7.. very2 superb lens!
the glass is soooo clear and the color damn accurate.. and dont start me on the 'beercan' (minolta 70-210 f4) yet..

but anyhow.. 'serious photographers' dont go for gimmicks stuffs?
owh okay.. this is VERY VERY VERY new to me.. notworthy.gif
so usually 'serious photographers' will go for better ISO control only? since i know that the amount of pixels doesnt really matter (i still do, even more after seeing those photos of 16mp getting cropped to 4mp to cuci2 and upload to facebook), and the magnesium ally body? and 7fps, or 52 focus point (which most people will use the center focus point anyway)? and what else? sweat.gif mind to share?

QUOTE(zstan @ Nov 26 2010, 03:06 PM)
sub par? have u compared their RAW files before?  hmm.gif

im using hair dryer to dry it first and i put 1 small size silica gel in golden box..is that ok?
*
i personally read somewhere in the net, but my method is,
(IF u have a flashlight), i just give 1/1power and point it to the lens, put the flash head in front of the lens and fire away..
the heat from the flash will PROBABLY kill any 'growing' fungus..
no scientific facts to backup this but so far this method is what im using.. and so far, luckily no fungus yet..

all 50mm lenses can be used on any lenses la, lol
*

i *LOL*ed back at ya..
FYI, 50mm f1.4 is FX lens.. can be use in Fx body and Dx body
but 50mm f1.8 is Dx lens if u use in Fx body will be cropped (the 'cut' askakita mentioned)

in macro especially... with magnification, its better (IMHO) to be in MF because u get to focus at the point that u intend to focus on..

dun die yet, i mati frm too much laughing 1st  laugh.gif

because i laugh to hard on ur "every lens can use in any lenses" then my mind blur2 type while laughing hahaha
but seriously.. i was so confident writing that (while laughing) ~~~~ damn...

QUOTE(General_Nic @ Nov 28 2010, 12:11 AM)
of cos if u have d money go for 50 1.4 lor
if not 50 1.8 its a very good n solid lens at <rm500

some people call it "the best portrait lens"
but 50mm f1.4 when u use at f1.8 will be different with 50mm f1.8 used at f1.8..
dunno why.. mechanically un-explored (by me) yet..

"yaloh.. we dont have to open thread here mah.. everything we must try for ourselves..
what use listening to other if u dont know how to use it..
"
rclxms.gif okay sifu..

comment ur pic.. the first one for me (my n00b view) very nice color but the compo could be better by not cropping the left (right in pic) manequine to reveal it's body.. and sometimes the rule of third also doesnt need to be applied everytime. this one nice..
the 2nd and 3rd, i dunno how to comment.. sorry.. very n00b..

any camera will need a good learning to make sure u can fully utilise the potential of it..
go to any camera store, hold one in ur hand, and decide if that's for you..
held another one (different brand with the same price range) and try to feel if its meant for you thumbup.gif
