QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Dec 15 2010, 07:41 AM) nice one there, would be great if the eagle is looking towards you cj, your pictures never fail to impress, same goes to your gears, haha anyway, please spam comments for the pictures below really need help with the night shots, i can't get it right for some reason u might want to use a slower shutter? or bump the iso high. f5.6 iso 800 where got enough. abuse your camera lo. go iso 1600, 3200. since your iso noise control so good. QUOTE(8tvt @ Dec 15 2010, 12:24 PM) horizontal lines is ok, as u know some lens has distortion on the vertical, diagonal also having some effect.. with that involve making the pic like senget² one haha.. just cannot decide whether need to focus on center and just leave it be the vertical lines senget².. or maybe got some tips to focus on the middle, right, left lines etc.. i don't have UWA.. so using kitlens looks it half done.. like pre-cropped pic.. you can try mounting your camera on a tripod, shoot higher, zoom a bit, use a smaller f stop like f5.6..the distortions should be reduced by a lot if not all..

QUOTE(nevermine @ Dec 16 2010, 10:33 AM) oh,DRO have to switch off...i think my DRO always in auto mode @@ hmm can A550 make a similar effect with kit lens? thanks for the infos u can get the silhouette with your a550, but you only can get the vignetting with FF, or otherwise, photoshop. Added on December 16, 2010, 10:46 amQUOTE(kysham @ Dec 16 2010, 10:41 AM) DRO will tend to brighten the dark areas, which is exactly what you don't want in shots like this. You want the dark to remain dark. You don't need a full frame camera to get this shot lah... Your A550 is perfectly capable of achieve the same effect. nola the vignetting is caused by the crop lens on FF body in non-aps-c mode ma. oh wai, if he stack 10 filters also can get the same effect. although IQ gone la This post has been edited by zstan: Dec 16 2010, 10:46 AM

QUOTE(geekster129 @ Dec 16 2010, 11:51 AM) Bro, try contrasty subject and background. The whole idea of HDR is to make the exposure of the final image to look more contrasty and artificially beautiful. Traditionally people have tried to do HDR with different timings, e.g. 6:30pm, 7:00pm, 7:30pm. The impact is much more apparent. HDR in the middle of the day. DSC09775 by zstan, on Flickr

in simpler terms, 'natural-looking' HDR is a cheaper option to a graduated neutral density filter. is my statement accurate?
