have been using the apple original bumper for more than a week now. my review?

pros:
- you can feel the thinness of the phone
- doesnt add extra weight or size to the phone
- does give the phone enough protection (if you have a front and rear protector applied)

cons:
- quite expensive considering how there are no SP or etc included in the packaging
- when in the pocket, you will now know which side is front of back - think this applies to all bumpers.

overall, quite happy with the bumper. looking to try out glam rocka from more-thing. smile.gif

Here's my ELEMENT Case - Satin Nickel (Extreme Metal)

Review:
- Very nice finishing (smooth and feels comfortable holding the phone)
- Looked very Hi-Tech Robot looks.
- Make the phone slightly larger but looked better than naked. (It's the only case that will make the iP4 looked even better)
- Can't use any 3rd party USB cable but only the Original Apple USB Cable.
- Headphone Jack required sizes as per the original headphones. Will need extension adapter to use it if not using the original headsets.
- About the reception issue, it does decrease a lil' but after I did the fix to it with Vinyl Electrical Tape (as per attached picture), it's in fact, improved the signal than with a case or with my SGP Hybrid Neo EX bumper case on. Seriously. (I did a test with another iP4 side-by-side). Not only the signal strength but also the GPS receptions as well. Every Vapor Case owners should do this fix!!!
- Personally, I like holding the phone with the Vapor case compared to any other case. Gripping it is superb when playing games and taking pictures.
- The form and design is perfect. especially the mute and volume buttons area. It avoid getting the buttons and mute slider accidentally switched or pressed.
- Only issue with the Satin Nickel type is it's not suitable for those with sweaty palms. It's tarnish quite easily. The tarnish stain will appear in a day or two. But I liked it personally as it does create a used or rugged looks to it.
- For those who like it shinny and clean will need to clean it with Nickel Tarnish Removal every week or less to renew the looks.
- Overall, I'll not use any other cases to-date available unless there are even better design introduced.
- Pricey, but worth the money I spent. Seriously. (For those who change cases a lot, you already can afford this anytime).

im using the switcheasy sp anti-glare for both front and back. think i got it for rm70. seems alright to me, compromising the retina display for less finger prints no the screen. i was just wondering are there better SP out there that will not effect the display too much but still works as an anti-glare/anti-fingerprint SP?

yeah you're right, this has proly been asked numerous times. haha everyone kinda comes here to seek the answer to that question. im currently using the original apple bumper case. not sure if it wud actually survive a fall, but it does protect the phone, the chrome part at least. bad side is it leaves the back exposed, meaning you wud need to get a protector to stick on the back.

i recommend something that is a balance between protector and authenticity, bcos you dont wanna lose your iPhones looks just bcos you wanna protect it. smile.gif

urm im using the switcheasy anti glare SP. frankly its not scratch resistance. have a few scratches on it. but after using it for a month now, i realized the SP is beginning to thin, or rather bcos of the of oil and everything, the matte finish now seems clearer. on the good side, now my retina display is more obvious (improved) due to the thinning of the SP. thumbup.gif

but nevertheless, still on the hunt out there for an SP. think its time to go from anti-glare to a clear SP. wanna check out the retina display of the iPhone 4 for once after using anti glare since the first moment i held my iPhone 4.

My Vapor caused my GPS to go haywire.. most of the time it won't be able to lock on to my position.
I compared side by side with a naked iphone and with my vapor-iphone... the naked one had it's GPS position locked in 5-10 seconds, the vapor either took forever or never got a lock.
*
YES my gps gives me the same problem when my iphone is installed with the vapor case. i was shocked to see papago taking forever to see where i am. any ways to solve this? notworthy.gif

Worst than vapor? Hmm..When I first used vapor without the electrical tape, GPS did not work. Now it's working fine (with electrical tape). As for Blade, u hardly feel the signal drop unless u are at poor reception area. GPS works out fine even without electrical tape insulated on the inside of the case.

Thanks for your suggestion.

any idea where to find the tapes to stick on the inside of the vapor case? sigh my one causing the phone gps to not work. sad.gif

im using the power support anti glare (not sure whether it is also anti-fingerprint, think it shud b). and i gotta say its one of the most clearest anti-glare SP ive used on my iP4. i would say it is the anti-glare SP that effects the least on the phone's retina display. thumbup.gif

Reccomendations on where to buy Ori powersupport anti-glare? Might just get a pack later when my Belkin's all scratched up, it's two pieces for a pack right?
*
i got 3 SP in a pack. two anti glare for the front, and one crystal clear for the back. bought for around 120 @machines. think shud b able to get it for cheaper around lowyat. somewhere around that price should be the real stuff, anywhere too low (ie rm20/30) should b the fake? no idea how to exactly spot fakes from the real one. tongue.gif

since many guys here says matte sp reduce the quality of retina display, what if i try matte sp on iphone 3gs? will it make it totally sux?
*
well to be exact the matte SP was first introduced when iPhone was still at 3gs (without retina display) and i was using it den with my 3g/3gs. it did effect the screen quality a little bit but i guess the main reason why we often discuss it here, now with the introduction of iP4 is bcos the new iPhone's retina screen is amazing and users sometimes might not wanna ruin that with the matte SP. but if you do find the right SP, you might not have to compromise the blur-ness for the matte effect. thumbup.gif

dont care it so much la i using clear screen protector RM69 anti fingure print anti glare so what? still the same still got alot glare and finger print and most importat still affect retina screen. It's just a pcs of plastic. My advise just use a normal screen protector will do it's same. The different is their glue is easy to apply and when got a dust trap inside is easy to move it by blow it.
*
hahha clearly has not experimented or experienced matte SP. whistling.gif

I also feel that if wanna use matte screen protector, better to buy expensive one. As for crystal clear, a rm10 screen protector practically does the job. Might be easy to get scratched but can always change.
*
went to china and bought the crystal one for rm3. thumbup.gif bought quite alot. hahha planning to change it everytime it gets scratched.not that heartache. icon_rolleyes.gif
