Went back and checked out the drop test video conducted by some advertising company, and realize how stupid it is to break an iPhone 4 just to prove that it's destructible. No, two iPhone 4. One with and without bumper. Did Apple ever say that it's indestructible? Such a thin phone will definitely crack when you drop the glass (not the stainless steel band) onto a concrete, regardless of what casing are you using. Just don't drop it and all the stupid drop test become pointless.

I wonder why those people didn't test on a laptop? Idiots.

http://www.iphonehacks.com/2010/07/iphone-...umper-case.html

P/S: I owned a 3GS for slightly more than a year, and I never dropped it.
*
they do videos / posts like that -> visitors will get shocked/angry/confused -> visitors will post links on other websites/forums n ask other ppl to check it out -> more ppl view the videos/posts - they earn $$$ from ads biggrin.gif

why iphone? imagine someone did a video like this about an acer aspire M3465N5JFIJ3 (juz example, i find their laptop naming confusing), probably no one will care

How does metal cases offer better protection? To me it would seem leather or silicon cases are better when it comes to shock protection, plus they feel more comfortable in yours hands.
*
think of it this way. i give u two types of helmets. one is made out of pure metal. one is made out of pure silicon/leather. u wear the helmet, i hit u with a hammer. which helmet do u prefer? tongue.gif

both types wont give enough protection. it has to be hard on the outside and kinda soft inside.

SGP iPhone 4 Case Neo Hybrid EX Series is kinda costly around RM179 right?
Any other cheaper recommendation that provide similar type protection + front and back screen proctector?
*
damn that's expensive. shud be around rm130 only

Just installed the sgp oleo on my i4, compared to my previous sp (bodyguardz) this sgp oleo is really much clearer.. Plus it doesnt have the orange peel effect tat the bodyguardz sp seem to have, as all wet based sp do..

My only concern now is that like some forumers experienced, the oil resistant filter will wear off over time. Nevertheless i'd still recommend this sgp oleo over bodyguardz..

P/s: after i applied there's a bubble ar the bottom left of my phone, in my experience with the bodyguardz sp, bubbles fo dissapear after a few days, just wondering is this the same for sticker based sp as well? Any1 experienced this before?
*
About your bubble, if its just air then it'll be gone after a few days. But if there's dust underneath then u need to remove it using a sticker or something

Anyway i didnt know bodyguardz got orange peel effect. Will cross them off my list of things to buy tongue.gif thx

QUOTE(IceXenz @ Nov 30 2010, 04:21 PM)
Hi, I've just bought an Iphone 4. After reading through most of this thread, I'm still quite confused with which screen protector I should use/ whether I should even use a screen protector since most of the screen protectors reviewed have had the problem of collecting dust and yellowing.

Also, how does a sticker protect an iphone or is it only just for the aesthetic purpose? For example, the often mentioned black carbon fibre sticker or say, gelaskins, how much protection does it offer? Will I require an additional case if I use a skin? Also, in regard to the gelaskin, I'm wondering, how do you guys apply the front? I want to use a screen protector but won't this go in the way of the stickers which are applied to the top and bottom of the front screen?

I was thinking of getting either a carbon fibre/ gelaskin + the SGP Neo Hybrid EX/ Reveal Etch. Do you think this option is practical? I'm quite clumsy so I risk knocking it around the edges of tables etc. so is this enough?

Thank you for all answers, and sorry for any redundant questions I may have asked. >.<
*
screen protectors, or any of those film types like the carbon fibre or gelaskins, can only protect against scratches. they do nothing against impacts from drops.

if u want some impact protection, then get a case. common sense tells us the thicker the better. the neo hybrid EX has a good design because it has a hard outer layer and a soft inner layer. the back n front is bare though, but most of the time the phone lands on the side when dropped anyway.

to protect the screen from edges of tables, probably u shud get a flip case

Suddenly I feel that iPhone 4 looks better n works better without casing !!! What do u guy think?

I agree, but then sayang lar wanna leave it naked. If u got hot gf ofcoz u like her naked, but u wont want her to go out of the house naked right tongue.gif

That case is even worst
Why would you go for a aluminium case whcih destroy you signals ?
I bet you are having issues while internet.
*
Ure forgetting the fact that only a few here are having signal problems. I dont smile.gif

hey guys, i currently have the iphone 4 bumper, i'm looking for a screen protector.

should i go for zagg invinsible shield? it's kinda costly though, but if it does the job well i'm willing to spend.

or are there any other recommendations?
thanks in advance.
*
Id say no. Im using zagg for my MBP n i cut the leftover pieces to protect the sides of my iphone lol (no need to spend more money haha). But the texture is not nice, got orange peel effect, n dust will get stuck to the corners

doesnt a rough surface make it harder to move your finger on? O.o
*
nope2. try swiping ur finger against a glass / mirror compare to swipe on a piece of paper. glass is smoother, but has more friction. that's the difference between matte n clear surface smile.gif

im using PS antiglare HD. so far very satisfied, i really like the surface. u lose a bit in the display quality but i dun mind

Hi guys, sorry for this Nooby question.

If I purchase SGP Neo Hybrid Matte or SGP Neo Hybrid EX from MacStudio, will it just include the Case or will it include SP as well? Sorry sorry, doesn't have time to check it out myself and wish to get some idea here first.

BTW, what's the price for SGP Neo Hybrid Matte?
*
it includes the SP. i think it's stated on the box. front+back for the EX, an front only for the matte

hi... sifuS here... is sgp iphone 4 case neo hybrid ex series good??? plan on buying it~ >< durable??
*
i'd say yes it's durable. dropped it once hahah. little scratch on the plastic part, not that obvious since mine is silver colour. but my phone is well protected smile.gif

its a very good case. as i said, im using the silver one, n ppl not familiar with an iphone4 dont even realize im using a case haha biggrin.gif i think the black silicone part kinda makes it look something like an MBP's lid ;p

the dock connector and headphone jack openings are a little restricted though

Anyway, anybody here using PowerSupport matte screenies? Are they as good as people say they are though? I'm using a Belkin matte and it's not bad, really, compared to cheapo 20 buck ones I've seen. At least it doesn't scratch much unless you really try (which I just did just now, with scissors lol).
*
yea im using. rainbow effect is much much less compared to cheapo matte SPs. it's still there la, but not what i'd call annoying. i've had my matte powersupport on the front since i bought it, n no scratches so far. my matte cheapo back protector got a few scratches dy tongue.gif

nvr tried belkin's matte though. didnt even know they have it ;p

dont care it so much la i using clear screen protector RM69 anti fingure print anti glare so what? still the same still got alot glare and finger print and most importat still affect retina screen. It's just a pcs of plastic. My advise just use a normal screen protector will do it's same. The different is their glue is easy to apply and when got a dust trap inside is easy to move it by blow it.
*
compare a cheap matte SP and an expensive one, you'll see

crystal not much difference i guess. what SP are u using that uses glue?

guys, i wanna ask, any one of you have tried Invisible Shield Maximum Coverage for the iPhone 4? i am interested in getting one, wanna know how it looks like after applying the shield.. quite tired of using casing liao...
*
i wouldn't recommend it. the adhesive will seep out n makes ur phone look dirty. the film will turn yellowish after a while

i use it just to make sure any dust/sand that somehow goes into my casing wont scratch my phone. it looks like crap though tongue.gif
