Hi all guru, actually do you guys/gals have any cut lose limit?
My colleage advice me to have cut lose limit at 10%, but myself is 5% (however still will see how the down trend lor)
However after i cut lose on last friday for the Gamuda, today it raise back 2.6% sweat.gif (however even i sell today also i'm losing 4% already).

So is't not advisible to sell below average price of the stock? Please share your experience icon_question.gif

To me .... until today, never use this kind of strategy (hopefully not in the future).
I will sell if the stock din move as per my expectation and this apply for speculative stocks only.

I seldom cut-loss which so far works for me because actually there is no ideal % for us to judge to cut. If a counter is fundamentally good with no problems, I'll usually average down, then wait for the market to recover then sell off when reach my target price. Bear in mind that, most of times, if general market is down, most counters will trend down.
I have done cut-loss on certain counters that fundamentally has gone wrong(profit trending down quarter on quarter, business prospects affected by certain situations, like currency fluctuations..... & that helped me to use the funds for other better counters.)sometimes, i wished that I have done the cut-loss earlier had I noticed the severity of the problem
my opinion is Gamuda might recover, because I think the railway issue can be cleared up & they have future projects pouring in, though I do not have Gamuda.

Gamuda was hot stock because of the troubled Vietcong project... I remembered it was taken a beat and then slowly inch up following the general market.

hi, me no sifu.. just sharing my experience..
cut loss is also an "art"... there is no specific guideline like 10% or 5%... u can have different limit for different counters depending on your profit target/tolerance/company fundamental/market sentiment....
Maybe by going more technical you'll have a better idea as to when to cut loss.. Moving Averages,RSI,MACD etc etc...
eg: I can tolerate XXXX fall 30% and i will average down.. but i when YYYY fall 5% i'll be sweating bullets...

accumulative 9mths EPS 19cents. Expected to hit 25cents EPS by year end.
This will make PER 6 based on current price.
EPF holding 67% of this bank. other tiny little portion carry by other banksss.
Profit Margin lower than commercial banks, due to lower interest loan to those govt servant and govt. related club, industries such as MARA,SIRIM... bla bla bla
Just i really have no time to monitor my stocks currently. still advise ppl who got time to monitor can go for more aggressive stock.

Cut loss i think is good if you think the share will be going down further, since we can still buy back on lower price when the "panic" is over.
However problem is we don't know how further the downtrend is hmm.gif

No one knows when is the bottom and peak. The only thing we can do is buying according to the fundamentals of the company. For cut loss strategy, not really applies for me as I seldom speculate. The only time I speculate this year is Kencana which I only manage to sell at about 10c higher.
