Not worth to get the UPS then.juz nice for u to save and switch off the computer... so expect double the time or more on a laptop... QUOTE(CANONPIXMA @ Nov 22 2010, 09:39 PM) i rather have my battery spoil rather than having to redo all my work if there's any sudden electric trip.. i think the battery wont overcharge.. i have a spare battery for my laptop which i seldom use an they both now have almost the same capacity of storing the charge which will run my laptop not more than 45minutes. Yeah. My friend just msn me that his laptop suddenly restarts and his work is lost completely since he did not save it when typing it into the wordpad. The Microsoft Office can recover our documents in case there is a electic trip? |

I never dare to hibernate in the Windows 7. It does not display the progress or whatever is going on. It is just a pure black screen.
My friend had his PC sent back to warranty because his PC automatic hibernate at night and the next day he cannot start his PC. There is not even a BIOS display on his screen. |

QUOTE(edwardng @ Nov 28 2010, 05:15 PM) Looks like someone is Asus supporter *** Tips 1. Use ur laptop battery until almost 0% 2. After rechanging ur battery until 100% , u better unplug AC power (A good attitude?) 3. If u want to use for gaming, u better use AC power 4. Avoid heat that could spoil ur laptop battery 5. If you have the choices to use AC or DC, u should always use AC instead of DC ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Agreed. 3. I always use the AC power no matter for what purpose, unless the document i am doing will cost me a lot if there is a spike. 4. Have any suggestion to avoid it? 5. Agreed. |

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Nov 28 2010, 11:51 PM) 1. huh? aren't you meant not to use it until so low to not stress the battery? That is something that i never ever do to a laptop or handphone battery. 2. why want to switch to using battery? just stick to AC power no? 3. yes 4. yes (@quantum avoid heat like don't put your battery in carboot while parked under the sun, don't plug into laptop if your laptop is running hot...) 5. wait.. AC = wall socket, DC = battery? or AC= alternating current while DC = direct current? Thanks for the suggestion. |

QUOTE(xin @ Nov 29 2010, 02:17 AM) cuz batts have charge cycle de ... that is why frequent charge will render the batt unusable when approaching the end of the cycle charge. Thanks for reminding me. Lets say the batt for example has 3000 cycle charge... means each time the batt encounters a charge then it minus 1 cycle charge. So even ur batt is in 100%, and you plug the power cord to ur notebook and that would cost you 1 cycle charge gone. So always advise to remove batt before plug in power. |

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Nov 29 2010, 02:53 PM) sorry, yes, memory effect! not sure if anyone already posted this before, here is something that should be able to answer the question posted in this thread! Not so fast. http://batterycare.net/en/guide.html i ve been using batterycare and practicing it without reading the link above 1. no need to unplug battery after fully charge 2. remove your battery before doing heavy gaming and leaving it over night for torrent, etc 3. DONT use battery till 0% 4. A charge cycle is NOT count as number of time you charge ur battery. say, u use 50%, charge back 100%, that is only half cycle. 5. HEAT is #1 enemy of your battery hope TS can close the thread liao.. When should we start to recharge the battery? 15% of power remaining in the battery? |
