lol come on, they played badly yesterday, and suddenly, they are average players?

I reckon Anderson will fill in Scholesy's place...only thing is, when?
*
Dunno when. Take a good look at Darren Fletcher. Took him sometime to cement his place.

Weren't there suggestions to sell A and buy B? Anyway, feel free to discuss.

Average because united still top 2 at the moment. And average players won't win the title. You need extraodinary players to win the league.

sigh, then 2 seasons ago, who won the title for us?

Lol. If it is the same players, it means they have their performance declined. That simple you also can't understand.

really? prior to this 2 draws, we won 6 in a row (the team played well during this stint), so was it a fluke?

and who should we replace them with then if they really had "declined"?

I don't think SAF won't notice if even you can see that, unless he also had declined?

Well, we started our own downfall for the first 80min by being very sloppy with the possession. I lost count how many times we gave the ball away and with that kind of pace Villa have, its suicidal. Just look how quick Villa counter attack when Macheda lost the ball with a sloppy pass outside Villa's own penalty box.

We clearly missed Scholes yesterday and we have to start addressing this issue sooner or later. Scholes won't play every game and if we struggle like this when he is not around, we will have serious troubles.

We only showed urgency when we were 2 nil down. I have to say, even though we have been on a winning run a few games back i do not recall Man United imposing ourselves on opponents. Few season's back when opponents faced us, they would park the bus with they're tails between they're legs expecting us to put an almighty onslaught on their goal.

Bolder tactics from "smaller" teams? or we have not played up to our standard? hmm.gif

Both, I would say. Teams like Sunderland, Stoke and others have proved that on their day they can compete with the big boys so a win is not a given. We have to work for it. And of course, we are still not there yet in terms of hitting top form. Just hope it will not be too late when we do so sweat.gif

Yeah, looking on the stats, we dominated possession, which is normal when playing against a counter attacking team, but we failed to make that possession count.

sure i tot dis season mu just not themselves .... having sold ronaldo and tevez and no replacement...sometimes i reli wonder how SAF reli believe in our current squad is strong enuf to challenge chelsea or even other teams....although i have absolute faith in SAF...u see in terms of squad we are the worst among chelsea, arsenal, manchester city, and totenham....this is the fact and i tink as much as SAF doesnt wanna buy...he has to buy in january...perhaps an attacking midfielder will do and a goal keeper in the summer....

well
1. the market had been spoiled by all those clubs with bottomless checkbook
2. we are United, and whenever we wanna buy, opponent sure will jack up the price like no tomorrow
3. we did bought some players since Ronaldo Tevez's departure -- Obertan, Valencia, Owen, Chicharito, Bebe, just like last time when we sold Becks, we bought in Ronaldo, and some people also question SAF's decision that time

I'd rather trust SAF's judgment now, as he almost never disappoint the team, and the fans all these years

yes we played like crap last night, and for most of the time this season, but all we can do, is to stand behind the team, for they needed all supports they can get now to get back to their old form, and challenge the title once more smile.gif

just sharing my opinion...did u watch all the game that we won this season? in SOME of em, we were lucky. dont u think..with better players, we MIGHT have won many more games? icon_rolleyes.gif

i kinda agree with ken. there's too many average players in our team. try comparing the LEVEL/QUALITY of football man utd played during the rooney-ronaldo-tevez era with the current team. (and which team won us MORE cups and titles) hmm.gif

its hard to think SAF (of all ppl) didnt see that we're do not have enough quality to be reckon as major force. but if he cant see that..then he's in 'decline' state. (need someone to b****-slap him and tell him that we need quality players or change the tactic) laugh.gif

man utd badly need a playmaker who can do a good job in distributing the ball from defend to attack + score goals. and plz plz plz...i dont wanna hear the same excuse: "there's no value in the market". macam la dalam current team ade value sangat..haih... shakehead.gif

yes on the playmaker part, we need to find someone before Scholes hang his boot, either someone in the team to step up, or splash the cash, both have their pros and cons, so its up to the gaffer to choose

its just the second season that combo broke up, how many season we took to recover after the 1999-2002 three peat (a.k.a between Yorke-Cole-Scholes --> Rooney-Ronaldo-Tevez)?

Average players? A lot of them are the one who won us 3 consecutive titles so its impossible that all of them suddenly turned into average/crap players overnight.

Its pretty easy for outsiders/media/pundits to say we need spend on this player or that player. People need to remember the fact which is the club is in debt and its not a small amount. Its a big debt and its long term. We are servicing the interest which will increase if we do not reduce the debt. The bonds sort of help restructured the debt but that doesn't means we can simply spend as we wish.

Look back on the previous transfer market. You are looking at players who normally might not be that expensive but due to the clubs after them are rich, the price automatically went up a chunk. I still don't believe Yaya Toure worth his transfer fee, not by his current performances for City at least. Same goes to Milner who sort of gone off the boil recently. If you follow the rumours/paper speculations, some of the player price are ridiculous to say the least so its not 100% wrong when the gaffer say there is no value in the market. I am guessing those pundits who say we need to buy this/that player will be the same bunch of people critising us if it doesn't turn out to be a good deal.

on another note, this was the team that did and i quote b**** slap teams like ac milan and bayern munich last season, and Rooney is soon to be back. so maybe more patience?

hell if we don't have messi, ronaldo, apalah, but we are United. let's just stick behind SAF and the lads, and we'll see how far we can go this season.

on another note, one thing that thrilled me watching yesterday's match was that Villa fans celebrated the goals like their team won the CL. so yea, MU is still the team to beat.

Well, they almost break the 15 years curse of not beating us at their own soil so expected so I guess.

QUOTE
Villa were so close to ending 15 years of hurt on home soil against Manchester United - but the Red Devils came roaring back with two late goals.

It was in August 1995, after Villa's previous home top-flight victory over United, when Alan Hansen famously said: "You'll never win anything with kids."

People forget that form is temporary but class is permanent. It's normal player will perform this week but next week they might having a bad day.

Once Scholes hang the boots , then we will buy a new player.

I am still hoping Anderson will step up to the plate this season. We saw a glimpse of that during February before he got that serious injury.
