brows.gif catchy phrase...  blink.gif

You finished the downloading?

Yes finished long ago. Already browsing all over. Feels great so far. I intentionally wipe the device clean to avoid interruption from old apps.

Does anyone have update.zip file for official froyo?Share lah with us biggrin.gif

As mentioned above, use z4root for froyo. Update.zip will fail.

No one has reported Froyo update containing any bootloader. So probably the phone won't miraculously regain 3br by upgrading to Froyo.

To those who don't want z4mod, you should also try superoneclick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682

Both z4mod and superoneclick does not replace entire kernel, unlike CF-root. Just in case our JPA kernel is a different version with the previous JPA.

I had Froyo for 3 hours already.

+Lots of new little features
+Fast market download (no lag during installation)
+Supports bluetooth keyboard and mouse (I only got BT mouse to try)
+Contacts linking are neater and will use Gmail names as default (no weird names shock)
-I didn't like the fancy colours all over (personal preference)
-Stock firmware is not as smooth as my Voodoo-ed Eclair
-They removed Accuweather clock!!! I need to keep track of other country's time and weather!!!

Agree with all your points. You should try animated weather or buy the pro version.

Still testing and checking since this morning.

Still don't understand why I got root in my kernel ver...

Been using Froyo for less than an hour since update.

So far all apps, contacts, msg, data, etc are intact for me.  thumbup.gif

Eclair also shows root. Just you didn't notice.

Eek. I thought mouse supposed to work. Yesterday I paired, I saw mouse logo in Bluetooth menu, then I thought it is working.

Now when I really want to use, it has totally nothing. Just paired and did nothing.

I use z4root for superuser permissions. Did not lagfix or mod anything else. I think it would be fair only to experience it out-of-the-box. laugh.gif

From unmodified SGS, chuck it into computer and turn on KIES. Press upgrade. Wait few minutes and it is done.

Extremely smooth and no issues.

The UI is not so smooth but I can live with it. I already loaded it with almost every app I need.

I changed to static wallpaper. Suddenly got back the Eclair smoothness on user interface. Looks like Live wallpaper is taxing up the CPU when Froyo itself is slightly heavier.
