I noticed something ...
when battery is low.... GPS would not detect any signal at all...
After upgrading to froyo... i can detect signal in less than 10sec .. @ indoor (at certain places)
On street.. it can detect as fast as less than 5 sec...
The only problem now is... the accuracy seems to be shittier than 2.1 ..... Maybe i should do more testing to confirm....
I wonder if i set the accuracy to 10 .. would it be better..

The new Swype's accuracy on Froyo seems a bit down the drain. I trail to the correct letters, yet it came out different words.

It felt a lot less accurate compared to whence I was on Eclair.

Anyone felt that? Don't think it's calibration problem if I could see the trail was trailing over the correct letters, right?

PS: and the lag was worse than Eclair. Most noticeable right after I installed Pico TTS... fulamak... lag giler.

it will improve.. mayb i'm wrong. but swype learns...
i have this issue as well whenever i flash new rom.

after a while... it's back to normal.

not sure if it's my intuition or it;s suppose to work like that wink.gif

Well, the problem is, it was all good back when it was on a fresh Eclair. cry.gif

Added on November 22, 2010, 7:21 pmAnother thing to note on FroYo. Did the radio now comes with stereo? I thought I heard the song in stereo this morning. Maybe I was wrong.

Anyone can confirm? biggrin.gif

is this the final FROYO for asia? or there will be an update for lagginess during scrolling? anyone knows regarding this?
*
Final FroYo? Don't think so, but first official FroYo, maybe.

As for lagginess? Sack the analyst that said to use RFS on Samsung.

looks like I'm the only one here still on eclair Malaysia eh biggrin.gif

so long no follow this thread...seems like official froyo for Malaysia has a lot of problems too? gonna update during Christmas period when I go back home
*
Lag, yes. Problems? None so far. Will keep on updating the thread.

Another thing I noticed. No more double tap on text to size them into the width of screen on the browser. Or maybe those sites that I visited don't support sizing? Anyone can confirm this?

My bad, it was an option on the browser. Didn't realise that it was optional back in Eclair though. Maybe it was enabled by default back then.

+1 to FroYo again. biggrin.gif

My BT mouse is fine already. I didn't know i have to double tap.

Tested connection with BT mouse using my friend's Desire. Asked for passkey, but even supplied passkey, it still won't work.

Added on November 22, 2010, 10:48 pmBesides, Desire's FroYo doesn't have Back+Home screen cap.

+1 for SGS biggrin.gif

hi. i think i bricked the phone when i upgrade via kIES just now.

Now it stuck at the boot page. 3 button boot doesn't work sad.gif
*
Connect your USB cable via PC. When the charge battery indicator showing, try the 3-button recovery again. If you don't see the charging battery. Send it back to Samsung for warranty claim.

Boot into recovery mode, do whatever data/cache/ass wipes that you can see there. Then reboot. Should be fine now biggrin.gif

Applied z4root.1.3.0.apk.

Doesn't seem to properly root the phone. When enter Superuser app, it prompted me to update my su pulak.

Now samba file sharing not running. Trying to do the update.zip for new su.

*cross fingers*

EDIT: oh greatttttt! When I tried to apply update.zip, it says can't find /mnt/internal_sd/update.zip

When I browse my /mnt, there isn't any internal_sd/, but only sdcard/

What's wrong with my FroYo man? Should I revert back to 2e first? Any idea how to execute the update.zip now?

That's cos you are on Froyo's 3e recovery.

Get back 2e recovery to re-start what you were doing. You can get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
(second post)

Thanks! That's gonna take some time for me to digest, stuff dealing with ODIN and... replacing boot records and such.

I managed to root it finally, using z4root. First root has apparently fail as I wasn't able to allow Superuser access to z4root after the first rooting, hence it stays... unrooted somehow.

Samba working as well, yay! But keep getting unable to update username/password, check logcat thingy. Now dumping logcat into /sdcard to see if there are any useful stuff that I can make of it. lol

It seems that I m still not able to patch my Battery Mod tonight. Time to hit the sack ~_~

Anyone on froyo has found that once you enter GSM mode, cannot go back to 3G mode?

I am on DXJPA

Also, I find it difficult to establish data connection.

I have switchpro installed.

2e = can install any update.zip
3e = can only install signed update.zip
*
Don't even bother with update.zip, signed or not on the 3e.

It tends to look for update.zip inside /mnt/internal_sd/, whereby your sdcard was mounted as /mnt/sdcard/.

I guess there's no way to execute your update.zip other than by doing it from ADB or Android itself? Heh...

Now I wonder how the heck am I gonna apply the Battery Mod. sad.gif
