setcpu should be used along with profiles to save battery consumption..
personally i tweak to 768 with performance, so far no problem (main profile) <--- some may encountered problem, so choose at ur own discretion for screen off profile, i set 245 for both and select interactive/conservative u can navigate to setcpu's website and read the guides and changelogs |

QUOTE(falcon21 @ Nov 24 2010, 03:39 PM) u're welcome, but anyway...just wanna share my experiences with u guys, hope it helps...somewhere i read about the specs for wildfire indicate that WF is actually built on 700+Mhz but was clocked to 528 Mhz by HTC, therefore advisable to tweak it somewhere 700Mhz(691 or 710) for optimum level due to 768 (MAY) harm ur cpu , the decision is urs to make. |

QUOTE(falcon21 @ Nov 24 2010, 04:12 PM) bro, can share fully ur tweaking of WF? allright for ur references, basically there is nothing as right or wrong in setcpu, it's all up to urs..u jus run 2 profiles? or more? not tat un setcpu page, too advanced for me...LOL Main profile - Previously - 710 Max and 352 Min - On demand (set on boot) Now - 768 Max and 352 Min - Performance (ignoring the 352 min as performance profile will always at 768, set on boot)*experimental mode* ** majority using 691 / 710...heard that >710 for certain ppl will auto-reboot, so u pandai pandai la.. Screen Off - 245 max and 245 min - interactive -priority 95 Temp > 45 celcius - 518 and 245 min - on demand - priority 90 Battery < 20% - 614 max and 352 min - on demand - priority 70 not sure whether it works well on ur device or not, glhf i tried to test with linpack and the result is quite overwhelming...mflops 3.18 with the new profile w/o JIT turned on |

QUOTE(clon12 @ Nov 24 2010, 06:50 PM) As I know, generally OC will do two main things: i may agree with ur 2nd point only, correct profiles really help in saving battery consumption...But likewise, it may decrease the cpu lifespan like u said..well, tht's the opportunity cost...u hafta sacrifice something to boost performance 1. Drain your battery 2. Decrease your CPU lifespan (due to the heat dissipated and such) try it on your own risk though... although I'm gonna go and oc it anyway LOL XD Btw, if lets say we oc it..then we flash it to another rom..the CPU speed will be the same or the stock one? flash to another rom? example, from cyanogen to wildpuzzle? erm, advisable to do a full wipe before installing a new rom as both roms may clashed and cause bugs... just flash jacob's kernel 4/4.1 after u flashed the new rom, it will do da job |

QUOTE(clon12 @ Nov 24 2010, 07:06 PM) Hmm, actually I was thinking that I can like unroot it and flash to stock rom with the oc settings. As I know if you oc the product, anything you can't claim warranty right? So if my device something went puff..I can unroot it and change the CPU to original settings and send to claim warranty and such aiya, after u unroot it and install the original stock rom back, everything is back to default setting liau de, muhahha, so the warranty goes on xD |

@clon12 ya, off the mobile network...and i just noticed that in few pages back, someone mentioned about 0.facebook.....well, 0.facebook is kinda useless here.. i tried to off all the background sync including the weather sync..and the moment i turned on my mobile network, it will start charging..there are something else running behind this i guess, but i cant really detect it...
therefore, a big NO for 0.fb for digi prepaid user unless u already used up rm5 in 2g/3g browsing |
