but the functions are not as rich as handcent

actually, handcent allow you to:
change every single font size from contact, display message and date
change every single font color
change types of bubble conversation
different background in inbox and bubble diferently for horizontal and vertical
plus, can have different background and setting in each threat
that why it eat lots of space for handcent.
if u not interested in those, just go try go sms.

It's stock in your phone. Long press & select Widgets, scroll down and search for Power Control. The other icon with 2 wifi signal bars is WiFi hotspot - you have to have Froyo to have that, I think. Not too sure about that.

i downloaded handcent from market.. its awesome.
but the thing was when message received it appears both of sms from handcent n from default program on the notifications
how r we gonna set the default message to handcent?

My phone is not with me and I'm lazy to get it, so anyway. Go to your original Messages app, go to Settings, look for Notifications, and turn the whole thing off. Simple as that.

turn off? then how come do we know that new message has received? there's no sound at all?
