It all depends on your band I guess. If you wanna record it live your band has to be tight and the studio equipment has to be good enough to accomodate your band. In addition, you guys could experiment with tempo changes and the sound will be more 'live' than tracking. If you prefer to layer the tracks track by track, it would be much tighter and locked to the beat.
That said, there are some studios which go for both options. First, you guys would play the track and they would only take the drums and perhaps bass track while muting the rest. Then the guitar parts would be laid and followed by vocals etc. There isn't a 'better' choice, just the one that suits your band the most. |

QUOTE Guitar Luthier (handmade) in SS15 I don't have the exact address, but if you are familiar with SS15, near Taylor's? there's a mini shopping mall in there. The store is on the second floor. Its not a big mall, so ur sure to find it. The shop also sells SXs, second hands, and does repairs. Its opened rather late, around 12 ish and the owner is simon. Check it out! "Just dropping in to say how happy I am to have found an absolute gem. My guy has been talking non-stop about his friend who was a luthier, right. And this guy was an apprentice of some big nob in Canada or sumthin. So, he has returned to Malaysia and is currently producing ABSOLUTELY BLOODY BRILLIANT ACOUSTIC GUITARS!!! My friend took in 4 of 'em to help him sell them. There was also a second hand min Takamine on sale at his shop. I triep the Takamine first, great sound, deep bass and so on. But I wasn't gonna expect what happened next. I strummed an E' on this locally made guitar and I was shocked. It was georgeous. I felt like I was playing a RM5000 Taylor. The neck was smooth (slim), it was slightly small and light but the bass and tone was out of this world. I'm not really good at describig how guitars sound like. But once you play this baby, you'd know immediately that it was first class hand made sh*t.. The guitar goes by the name Free Man (the surname of his master I think - Freeman) it retails at around RM1800 <--- worth every penny spruce stika solid top, bindings etc.. gotta see it to believe it." Quoting the post on top, the luthier of the Freeman branded guitars is Edward Hiew. His my cousin brother, and yea his guitars is out of this world, top quality,i've been playing guitar for 11 years and i know what i'm talkin about. If you guys need more information on his range of guitars, just drop me a msg n let me know. You can contact me at hideto80@hotmail.com |

QUOTE(noisetrigger @ Feb 28 2006, 07:09 PM) I was there for my Dimarzio Breed like two months ago and I don't remember seeing any Randall amps. They got lots of Epis though, Epi SG gothic, LP, lots of others I can't remember now... totally agree..they are blood sucking pricks..and they totally have no idea what is electro-harmonix...i mean that they are doing business,at least they gonna have a bit knowledge on gears..totally sucks that shop..they rather let the business slips away and won't tolerate or give discount..last time i had to get the other guitar shop acted on my behalf and get more discount...what the hell..the worst guitar store i have ever met..But beware, they are blood sucking pricks. The standard 10% discount rule doesn't apply to them. |

LOL, so many people banging La Floresta... all i know is their price for DiMarzio's are freakin expensive despite being the "official" distributor. RM400 for the cheapest humbucker if i'm not mistaken. And the more expensive ones would probably cost like RM440+.
