Hi all,

I'm a french sound engineer (sound editor, sound mixer, and too musician) and I go to Malaysia (yeah!!) for tourism during 3 weeks (from the 27 august to 18 september). KL, Penang, Cameron Highlands, Taman Negara, Perhentian Island and KL.

In this topic there's a lot of store for guitarists, but do you know address for studio stuff ? (microphones, preamp, soundcards, synthesizers etc etc...)
Because I'm sure the prices are very differents and low in Malaysia compare to France. And too I want to see how stores and studios shops look like in Malaysia.

And if you know places to have fun for concert, alternative music, art places or others don't hesitate !

umm, perhaps it would be better for u to post better pics.
cos from what it is now, it looks like a bad refret job.
edges lifting up abit, frets not crowned properly.

You don't know how bad this guitar fingerboard. Is a old guitar with wet fingerboard.

I think you should add Carismen Dolce at Hartamas Shopping centre into the list.
Boris Hague, a famous Luthier from Germany regularly goes there and stays in for up to 3 months a year. His apprentice, a Malay guy whom i have forgotten his name, lives there and he is the ONLY Luthier in all of Malaysia I would trust my violin and bow to.

Also, the boss himself is a Violinist and Guitarist so they sell many accessories and violins not found in Malaysia. For that reason, MPO players regularly frequent the store too. =)

do jamming studios actually provide guitars and bass? coz i've been browsing around and i see that they only provide amps and drums.

also does anyone know of any jamming studios around sunway or subang, that are about the ranges of RM20-25/hr?

Totally agree plus there's a crack on the fingerboard messy glue job also. A bad instument does not warrant a bad repair. However, keep up the good work.

Hey guys,

Are there any luthiers in Petaling Jaya or Kuala Lumpur who know Fender guitars inside out, in particular the Fender Jaguar?

I have a Fender Jaguar that keeps going to and from people. It was already very problematic to begin with, I thought one visit to a luthier would suffice but so far it's as if one visit = 30% improvement, or, they will fix something and add another problem lol.

Can anyone recommend? Hopefully someone who knows Fender Jaguars inside, out, sideways, etc...

I'm really totally sick of hoping that the guitar doesn't have any problems each time I plug in...and it's an American jag of all things. *Vomit blood*
