hye guys,
i just open a jamm studio at ampang,

Eightyfourcube Studio Gallery
(design studio, music rehearsal studio, photo studio, mini art gallery)
i call the jamm studio 'Rawk Station'
i bet the studio is different from any other studio u guys have been to,
because i combined a design studio, a photography studio and a mini art gallery with a jamm studio.
creative and clean environment with no typical jam studio kind of feeling.

rate is Rm25 per hour, opens 3pm - 3 am,
located next to LRT Star ampang (the last station),
a new shop lot, one row with Al-ikhsan and Brothers. near Ampang Point.
mamak, restoran thai, carrefour express, saloon, etc downstairs.
parking is a no problem.
call 012 3534389 for bookings...

DRUMS :
Pearl Forum standard set with Evans tom skin and Evans EQ rings,
Pearl Joey Jordison snare (13" x 6.5" steel) with Evans EC reverse dot skin,
Emad and Emad2 bass skin,
a pair of Headliner crash (16" & 18"), Diamond 16" regular crash and a Sabian Pro ride (20"),
Headliner 14" hi-hat (will upgrade soon~)
and a Maxtor double pedal.
(Travis Barker kind of setup where the toms are low, almost same level with snare,
i found it very relaxing, everything is easy to reach)

GUITARS :
Roland Cube60 guitar amps with Boss footswitch (2 units)
Ibanez Gio guitar (2 units)

BASS :
Roland Cube100 Bass amp,
SX bass.

P.A :
Wharfedale Pro p.a system
2 mics, and 1 more for bass drum.

note : bring your own drumsticks.

website will be update soon (70% done),
will have more details and map.
for now can check out the temporary page :

www.eightyfourcube.com

or can visit myspace :

www.myspace.com/eightyfourcube

thanks and hope to see u guys soon at my studio.. smile.gif

The best depends on yourself.Try both, trust yourself and get it.IMO,I'd get the GIO because I prefer thin paper necks.I know many would prefer the pacifica, and GIOs construction is pretty bad,but I like thin necks. That's the most important thing for me.

What's your budget? Both guitars are very basic and if you can stretch that a little more, I'd recommend something slightly better.

Otherwise, if you prefer the heavier stuff and are into shreading, the Ibanez is better because of the thinner neck. The Yamaha was less "metal" sounding and more of a fat strat type sound - from what I remember from my friend's 112 anyway.

Try both and see which one suites you more and give us some feedback. I'm sure the others would like to know too. Good luck!

Hi All,

This is John Lau From fatty and skinny .
Would just like to tell you guys a lil bit bout our studio in SS2 P.J
We formed our studio Not in view of making profits, I myself have been an advid musician since my younger days,
during the 90's , there wasnt many fancy studios, and even there were! it wasnt really affordable to most struglling musicians like myself then.
We were only left with several choices of REALLY beaten up studio's with half dead amps, dead cymbals, and non responsive equipments that were due to its constant wear and tear fits... Our houses we just too small to fit in a 150dB sound screcers, and definitely wont be any neihgbours favourite.
My band dint really take off... so much for the rockstar dreams... I became a Lutheir instead (check out our workshop), Fatty and skinny music in SS2 is dealing mainly with guitar/bass serivicing , equipment rentals ( high end),used equipment sales and music School. The studio was made primary for testing of equipments ( we're pretty fussy bout good tone !!) , hence, the authenthic acoustic treatment to our walls- manyThanks to Icom's acoustic's faculty for the design. We figured that, the heck!!! lets share it. So, the studio is opened for any serious bands!!! Our frequent jammers includes, Dragon red, seven collar, SAD, tainted convenants, underhead light just to name a few. anyway...Guitar and bass NOT provided. other then that, we provide the below. have fun, for studio reservations, kindly drop us a call at 03-78777500 or you guys can get me at my cell - 012-2666450. John.
cheers!! btw, we only have 1 studio, so pls make reservations before. The studio's normally booked up a week in advance.
we're planning to open up another studio nearby due to the overwhelming response, but meanwhile, its just here... sad.gif
