Just rooted my phone yesterday. Have been spending months to read about rooting and flashing roms then now only i have the courage to do it.

But i still have 1 unanswered question, maybe some of you can clear things up for me?

I'm confuse about Nandroid backup. Does the backup save everything including the stock ROM(for my case) and the kernel?? Or it only backup my ROM??

A Nandroid backup basically saves everything thats in the internal memory and the NAND memory. Meaning your settings, widgets, contacts, whatever was installed is backed up. When you restore it it will exactly be as before.

from what i know it does not include the Radio update.

i use sms backup app, quite useful it will backup automatically to GMAIL under SMS label whenever you send or receive sms.
but then you cannot restore back to your phone though.

at least you have a copy of it in your gmail.

my power button getting unresponsive already. chatted with htc care online and my warranty period expired on 28th December 2010....

the timing just so nice >.<

anyone know how much the repair fee would be? i have no problem sending back to singapore. just wish to know the fee.

nanroid does include radio update..Everything that is on your ROM is backed up..

Gingerbread is still not completely working yet, (its main problem now is you have to choose either video recording or HQ youtube, if one works the other one will not). But it sure is fast, and people have been releasing CM7 previews already. So if you just want to try it out, feel free

MIUI is what I'm using atm, its fast enough and looks smooth.

I'm using Gingerbread..Can fight one to one with MIUI..

if still can work...root it now.
use track ball awake phone, and to turn off screen u can use lock screen wodget.
with that 2 apps, u no need to use yr power button except to power-on yr phone.

it will reduce the frequency of using the power button.

for my case, i hardly use my power button.

I heard that the problem with the power button exists only on the early batch of Nexus One. Is it true? Coz I've also seen a guy who broke his power button in just a few months. I've also seen another guy who always uses his power button non stop and it still working fine.

I use both video recording and HQ Youtube frequently enough, and since atm it can't do that, gingerbread is a no show for me

Guys need a favor can you tell me if its worth to get a proper nexus one dock vs a normal cradle which can sync n charge thx

The micromod's gingerbread is jsut enough ☺ I'm also compiling my own gingerbread custom ROM but its tailored to my flavor..Not sure if it will suit you guys..
