My new home is under construction at the moment, the brochure mentioned developer provide alarm wiring. So pretty much I'm here to survey for alarm system (preferable one which is able to arm/disarm from handphone, and able to communicate with the CCTV system perhaps?). So far names that came up was Paradox and Blugard, any other I should be considering?

My existing home now is using Sharp SmartHome, so it has these features (mobile connect + communicate with the CCTV) however being wireless the reliability is questionable. So this time around want to go for wired plus if need to add in more points to do during the construction period.

Thanks! Contacted them, seems their SmartHome series are full wireless... which is something I didn't quite like cause not so reliable hmm.gif

Btw, contacted the contractor handling the project's alarm wirning, he said the main unit is kept above the 2nd floor ceiling... wah seh is this normal ah? if got "mickey mouse" then bite the cable finish lor? bye.gif

Also he don't carry Paradox or Blugard but instead this brand called Supa...

I didn't like to put above ceiling. Seems like such a hot place to keep electronic system in.

Same thought here, heat and electronics won't last long =/ but he said can pull in the house though.

Apologise for sudden bump into the thread, may I now the reasonable price to install a conventional smart-phone connected alarm system for a new builded house that provided with full sensor and power wire prepared?  (Melaka)

I was quoted about RM2.5k for Paradox + the internet module, 20 points sensor, 2 keypads and 1 pet immune sensor for the roof. Melaka area too.

Including new wiring?

Exclude wiring, my developer gave wiring already (but it includes testing the wirings lor) generally I guess Melaka pricing more stiff cry.gif

What would the pricing be like at KL/Selangor?

Depends the paradox, how many zones and sensors are 3rd party?
*
SP6000, K32LCD+ x2, DG75 is the pet immune sensor for the roof and IP150 internet module... the 20 sensors... not mentioned if its Paradox or not. I haven't asked more detail cause haven't confirmed who to engage yet laugh.gif

If go for a smart home solution, the price is probably less than RM1.2K, smart home solution such as Aqara/Xiaomi is wireless, IoT technology, better app to mange house security, able to integrate to voice control such as Alexa, Google Home.

A bit skeptical for wireless system, used the Sharp SmartHome before... well not reliable... those 433MHz some of the doors got issues la. So with the wiring for sure go with wired solution... Plus Paradox so far usage pretty reliable... the swan server also so far no problem before.

The Sharp SmartHome I used, forever disconnect and all. I guess the newer tech with zigbee system will be much more reliable.

most of the security devices for Aqara/Xiaomi smart home are using zigbee wireless, I've been using xiaomi zigbee for 4 years, it is pretty stable and reliable. uptime is 99.99% for last year at least.

my 10 years old paradox is now acted as backup security devices

I would think the Zigbee would work better than the usual 433MHz... Mine like the kitchen back door, open close sometimes the central unit don't detect.

I'll check out the Aqara offerings, probably can replace the Sharp SmartHome at parent's place.
