Need some help here. I will be doing renovation at Cheras, so it should be under DBKL.

My unit currently has a garden separating the retaining wall facing the road (with the usual drainage) and the iron grill for the glass sliding door.

I would like to remove the glass sliding door and extend the unit until the retaining wall i.e. the retaining wall will be incorporated into the unit.

Even before applying/not applying permit, i would like to know if its possible, so as not to get conned or have problems in getting approval.

If the above is possible, then can my upstairs also be extended the same i.e. the same length of the below room.

its a townhouse unit, so there is another owner upstairs with his front door facing the same direction as my back door, his balcony facing the same direction as my front.

Is there anyone out there who have experience in the process of getting the drawing plan n submitting to DBKL for the license/permit to do renovate?

Would like to do backyard extension (kitchen) and also the front extension (car porch).

How much is the total cost? (include architect fees, drawing, processing fees,  etc etc)

How long does it take for the permit/license to approve? 3weeks? 6weeks?

Submit the drawing in November 2010 but renovation to start next year March 2011, the license/permit still valid?

If can, how about the big Tong Sampah? Inform them once the renovation start?

Anyone can advise? thks..
